I like Tamar, while recognising that she's human and sometimes disagreeing with her moderation. But in general I don't think we have a major issue with that on WF.

Seriously, I think Tamar stopped the worst of that after the Meka thing. But I agree that if you've got secrets, you shouldn't keep going around saying you know them. Just keep ya mouth shut!

But I also love a good dual outing followed by meltdown.

 

It's not a matter of protecting anyone.

We out duals for fun and profit on staff, but we don't go searching for them. You have to tip the radar for some reason.

There have been a couple of times we agreed to not out a dual or new handle, but those situations the person contacted us first and asked us to...and even they got outed eventually.

The amount of rep I am gathering for my post above speaks for itself - and notably some of those who have repped it aren't who I was expecting, meaning there are others yet to comment who also recognise it.

I dunno that we need mod rotation anymore for the reason you mentioned. It's not all the mods, not like it was eight years ago when Nick would quit every other week or Bear shot his mouth off or the staff organized a coup d'etat to get rid of the board owner.

I have never understood why Tamar has seemingly been granted lifetime tenure as a site moderator/admin, to the exclusion of others who would have been far more even handed in their approach to things.

I can only surmise that it's a combination of pity related to her terminal medical condition and the fact that she's probably traded dirty pics with others and can blackmail them with photos of their boy uglies.

I always figured Elwood kept her around because she could have confirmed that he was not in fact a law enforcement officer as he's always claimed. I can't remember off the top of my head the name of that chick he was cybersexing that threatened to expose him, which led to her instantaneous banning. That chick was able to be discredited as a crazy stalker bitch. I guess he figured Tamar wasn't so vulnerable.

My perception is that Lanzman kept her around simply because she's been in the position so long and he didn't want to reinvent the wheel.
