This is what, the third time in the last couple of weeks you've danced along this edge? We're already dealing with a lot of :aurora: because of the rep change. I really don't need you throwing gas on the fire right now. Please go back and edit that shit out, would you?

I am not dancing on any edge, thank you very much.

He just can't remember what he's already posted publicly in the Red Room.

    http://66.187.102.31/~wordforg/showpost.php?p=1700180&postcount=60

I revealed no more than that with my comments and I knew he had already posted it before.

Yes, you are walking on the edge, you basically just admitted internet stalking his mother.

You keep on pulling the "well technically I haven't broken any rules" card, which is pretty much the exact definition of playing along the edge.

I didn't internet stalk his mother. :jayzus:

All of you should know the same thing, if you have a memory from when Peter had that avatar of his mom...he had gotten it off a major atheist site where she proudly proclaimed her unbelief. He showed us that because Diacanu accused him of hacking into his account for the picture and he got it from a public site.

And it is not breaking a rule to mention a fact he already mentioned himself in the Red Room. It's a major part of the rule here....once you post it here it isn't private.

    Let's see what you wrote:

You don't see how that comment can come off as pretty bloody creepy, especially when you yourself push the whole tamarchives idea?

    Reposting it again:

You're an admin. Pulling the "well technically it's not breaking the rules because X..." card doesn't work when you are one of the people who writes the rules. You don't see how this type of thing could give a perception to members of the board that staff get favorable treatment?

Post it over and over again...the fact of the matter is that I revealed nothing private.

The only information shared was that she is an atheist and Diacanu himself had already revealed it. There is no rule violation...not even some "technical" crap you are trying to make up here.

And I have no part in writing the privacy rules. If I wrote them, they would be drastically different. I stay out of those decisions.

And I don't push the Tamarchives idea...I can't escape it, avoid it or make it stop so I treat it like the joke it is.

The idea that reading someone's blog...you know, the stuff they put online that they want people to read..is somehow "creepy" is a very bizarre point of view.

I guess you're right, there's no way any member could possibly get the impression of a double standard when you put it like that...

To me this is the questionable bit -

Can't remember ever discussing the posting habits of any member's mom or where they posted.

Please refresh my memory. Given your account, and in general, having another members mom as an avatar isn't okay. Even if mom posted her photo on another website.

Tamar Garish, the feedback has been pretty darn consistent. Your view of respecting privacy doesn't agree with other members views on a regular basis.

Not to say you're wrong but it's worthy of consideration.

Well, no kidding...and he was punished for that.

I only brought it up because I was accused of stalking when I did not stalk anyone.

And it's no secret, ever, that my personal opinion of privacy is different than the rules here. Even so, the fact someone posts online is not private information. That is ridiculous. There was no word for word summary, no links, nothing but a person posts online about atheism. What is private about that? Let's not be completely ludicrous here.

You really think a post like, "I saw X posting over at TrekBBS about gardening" should be considered a privacy violation? Because that is essentially what I said. If we go there, we are going to be very, very busy and look very, very silly.

Hope so, having another members mom as an avatar ain't cool.

That's not much of a justification.

True and that's probably a good thing.

You have created a tie between a member and his mother. Not cool.

"I saw a member's mom posting over at TrekBBS about gardening"

Heh, doubt we'd have much more to do, as for looking silly? We've long since crossed that bridge.

Dude...I created no tie between Diacanu and his mother!

Diacanu posted in the Red Room, long ago, that his mother is an atheist. He created that tie, not me.

Once he posted it, it became fair game on Wordforge. That is how it has worked for ages!
