Ironic considering that the narrator in Green Eggs an Ham spends the entire book protesting how much he hates the dish only to end up liking it after trying it.

No, it would be ironic if the green eggs and ham were expensive, mandatory, and you did not get to know what you were ordering until it was served.

I will not, will not vote for this plan

I will not vote said the tiny man

I do not want such better care

I do not want it at a lower fare

I do not like our own invention

Now that it opposes our intention

    I do not like Obamacare

I do not like it, it is not fair

Considering he's filibustering against his own party's legislation, I'd say an inability to comprehend irony is the least of his problems.

On the other hand, he's now spent more time talking about Obamacare than Nancy Pelosi spent reading it.

So Cruz proved he can talk for 21 hours straight and say absolutely nothing.

Rand Paul better watch his back.

And the GOP race in '16 is going to be hi-la-rious...

The problem with medical care in America is twofold.

Everyone focuses on the how-is-it-paid-for angle. What gets ignored is that regardless of how it's paid for or by whom, the actual price of it is far too expensive. A procedure that might cost the equivelent of $4,000 in the EU costs over $30,000 in the US. The reason for this is the cartels in pharmaceutical and medical supply. Such and such a hospital may only be supplied by such and such a supplier, manufacturer, and so on.

A lot of good could be done by a president who took firm action to break up the cartels, thus driving the actual cost of American medical treatment down to levels comparable with that in other first-world nations. And all this without ever touching the status-quo in regards to how it is paid for.

The problems with medical care in America are more than twofold. There's a whole host of issues, and it's in dire need of reform.

There's also the theory that the cartels exist because the complex system of multiple small payers lack the strength to negotiate better deals. Single payer seems to help with that in places like Canada.

A president can't. Congress won't let him. An absolute dictator who could purge all the lobbyists on the other hand...

Yeah, pretty obvious Skrain dual. But if it makes you feel any better, that was probably supposed to be a pos rep, he just lacks the post count to give it.

Indeed. Far too many people are referring to ObamaCare as "health care reform" when really it's only "health insurance reform".
