Not a callout thread, sorry. We can repurpose/derail later.

Actual question though: Florida drivers: Aggressive and fast or timid fucks?
I had the misfortune to get stuck behind two timid Florida drivers tonight, one getting on the freeway at 20 mph, and the other getting off a couple freeways later onto a long offramp at 45 instead of 60 (we're talking a 3/4 mile ramp). What the actual fuck. Is the lack of gators here in P-Town?

Florida makes sense once you realize that its residents are alligators wearing human skin.

I haven't done a ton of driving in Florida, but once I did drive round-trip from Tampa to Key West, so I got a decent taste. Overall seems less aggressive and stupid than driving in Detroit.

Detroit, though, I've had people come up behind me, beep their horn, flip me off, swerve around, and fly past me, when I'm doing 85 in the middle lane. More than once. If I'm doing 80, it's guaranteed to happen at least once every five miles. So, calling Florida less stupid and aggressive than Detroit isn't saying much.

Floriduh driving is a mix of slow obstacle drivers, and fast crazy drivers making radical moves at high speed around them.

The slow drivers are often the older drivers who have lost some processing and reactions speed trying to process three or more lanes of oddly moving traffic, lights, and the sunblinding. I get why they are slower and have to be in all three lanes. I also get why the sun blinds them, and dusk and night driving is hard with bright headlights everywhere.

I also get the fast one because that extra bit of slowness can set you up in the death zone where you have to stop at every red light every half mile. Some of those lights can be 3-5 minutes if you just barely catch them. Me and my family realized at a specific light if you did not slam on the gas and get above 60 from a left hand turn you made you would hit a 5 minute light, and then stop at at least the next five lights. It made the trip 15 minutes longer if you got caught behind a slow mover, or did not get up above 60 real fast.

Because you have commuters driving through this shit more than once a day people get to realize what a slow driver does and they will make wild moves to get around the retired drivers who could make a working person late to their job. When you are talking about a 15-20 minute difference in a 10 mile commute based on going a little bit slower because the lights are times to stop you, people with no time are going to make wild moves to make the lights.

The highway driving is a completely different story.
