I missed that expansion. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge T2 fan boy and love it despite the holes. T1 became a necessity to me only because it set up T2. Still, one of the things I liked the most about T1 was the semi hopelessness about judgment day. Sarah does not end the movie trying to stop it, but rather trying to prepare for it. T2 makes sense that over the years it would eat at her and it would be hard for her to truly stay off the grid and just let it happen. Her character is really expanded in the extended cuts of T2 that were not in the theatrical release. T2 was awesome in the theaters, but it was a real shame what had to be done to get it below an acceptable running time. I am sure the first one suffered from a lot of that too. Sarah and Kyle's time together is really short and tragic, but T2 did enhance it in a lot of scenes that were cut. I will watch it and like it simply because Linda Hamilton's Sarah is one of my huge fan loves. Fuck John, Arnie is her sidekick, and give me some of her blowin shit up. If they could somehow bring micheal beihn back and put him in there kicking ass I would love that too even if the story was contrived as fuck to do it.
It sucks that the best moments of Kyle and Sarah were left on the cutting room floor, and that is such a huge part of the story. In t2 they left he dreaming of Kyle while in the asylum and how he was sort of encouraging her from beyond to make her stronger out of it. These scenes explain a lot of her motivation in the second movie to go after cyberdyne and destroy them. Some really important stuff was cut out of T2 by Cameron which effected that movie. In the theaters you really never knew that any of their attacks had an effect on the T1000, or why john knew which one was his mother at the end because all the scenes of the t1000 screwing up after being frozen were cut. The whole emotional argument about the t800 being more human than humans and the better father for John is cut to pieces when they remove the scene in the car repair bay where they remove the CPU and switch on learning mode and John had to protect the CPU from Sarah smashing it. Some of those scenes would have made T1 a lot better overall, but it is still a great movie.
I am reasonably certain that the soundtrack was by Audiomachine. You might recognize the music in this As being the music used in this rather popular trailer. That being said, I don't see anything about this trailer which inspires me to watch the movie.
Which is like saying that it's better to be kicked in the nuts by someone wearing Doc Martins than steel-toed boots. You're still kicked in the nuts. There's a distinct number of missed opportunities in that trailer. For example, Sarah Connor doesn't ask for anyone to hand her a pack of menthols and her bottle of bourbon (because that's seriously what her voice sounds like), she doesn't say, "My name is Sarah Connor, perhaps you've heard of me?" and when she tells Ahrnold that she's going to kill him, he doesn't respond with something along the lines of "Don't promise me a good time and not deliver." This looks like a paint-by-numbers movie that has a promising premise but is totally fucked up by people who don't understand movies. (And yeah, I will include Cameron in that group. Because most of his output after the first Terminator movie has largely been shite that's quickly forgotten once it's left the theaters. Doubt me? Which do you see more of today: People talking about how amazing 'Titanic' was or people saying, 'There was enough room on that door for both Jack and Rose.'? If they say anything at all.)
Watching that international trailer, Apple genius Terminator is in a border patrol uniform, looks like there may be truth to the rumor that our new Sarah/John Connor is going to be busted out of an ICE facility.
I'm just gonna say it: Linda Hamilton doesn't seem to be able to pull off the bad-ass character the trailer suggests. She's too old and it seems way too forced. Could be wrong, hope I am. And if this film had any kind of woke commentary on border politics, I will definitely be skipping it.
(Linda Hamilton and Arnold break character, and look out at the audience) Linda- Seriously though, ICE are stormtroopers, and anyone who supports them are trash. Arnold- Absolute human trash. Paladin- *Storms out* Me- *Joker laughter* Linda- Is Paladin gone? Me- Linda- Good. Now for the bit where Mackenzie Davis does a full penetration scene. With you!!! James Cameron- Yep, this is the 3-D tech I'm using for Avatar 2. Me- Mackenzie Davis- *steps out of the screen taking her top off* *"moving in stereo", by The Cars plays* Paladin- *Driving home, talking into a MP3 recorder* Punisher's war journal. Terminator 6, 2 stars. 2.5, tops.
God forbid that the film franchise that warned of a future where average humans are seen as a threat, reduced to numbers and put in camps should comment on a future where average humans are seen as a threat, reduced to numbers and put in camps.
It's just that between the gangs and the drugs and the massive refugee fraud, it seems unfair to throw killer robots at our border officials, too. They've already got their hands full making sure people don't violate our immigration laws.
Meh. I'm not sure I'm interested enough in this to even catch it on cable. I don't buy Mackenzie Davis as a terminator. Way too emo.
Guess you never saw the episode of the Six Million Dollar Man where Steve Austin got amnesia while in the sticks. He got pretty emo in that episode.
Social media reactions say it's the best since T2. The worst ones say it's "The Force Awakens", of Terminators which is still pretty damned good. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/sci-...t-terminator-movie-since-judgment-day-a171220
