Hey guys,

I appreciate everything you've done for me, and I know how hard you've worked to keep things going. It's clear that what is happening on the board now is a cultural shift that I just don't feel good belonging to. I see that @gul is working to make a course correction for the betterment of the board, but I'm sure he can also see that a majority of the population clearly wants to keep heading in the direction they were in.

We got to see the way some of them truly are, in what they did the moment they realized that it was no longer acceptable to behave like gturner and get away with it. Some of them went on racial and homophobic rants across the board proper, while others worked to undercut what the Admins were trying to do in cleaning up the board to keep it from an ever growing cesspool just underneath the surface.

This is what they want, even some of the ones who are normally reasonable. They want things the way they were, they want that course to remain steady, rather than move away from where it will eventually lead. To use a politically relevant example, they want Donald Trump.

I will be stepping down before the end of the year, possibly before the end of the month, I don't know. I'll make sure to shoot @Order2Chaos a heads up before I actually leave, so Wordforge won't be left in the lurch. If this board is heading towards what the likes of Flashlight, Volpone, Ramen, Gturner, and others want, then I don't want to be part of the Masthead that eventually guides them there. I am not greater than the board, and won't try to be.

Same here.

Truth is, even if the handling of gturner wasn't the best (and since I'll be gone by the time this is released I'll say we could've done a better job) I can no longer brush off the absolute racist shit. Hopefully, those I know are trying to do the right thing will stand up against the cesspool and keep the place from becoming a another alt-right safe haven. With freedom comes responsibility, and I hope those like @Paladin and @Spaceturkey and @Stallion remember that.

Maybe reach out to Nick, too? He's on FB and posted in his Blue Room thread a couple of days ago. Maybe he'll be willing to step in part time or train someone else how to handle the ropes.
