The 2024 "Do We Really Need Four Stickied Versions of the Same Thread?" Thread

Is it really necessary to sticky four threads that are all just variations on the same theme (low effort posting of images/screenshots of other people's content, which occasionally dovetail into split threads because of FF or UA being dumb)?

When you go to open the Red Room on mobile, you have to scroll to get to any actual discussion threads. I don't know. I have no problem with the threads and occasionally participate in them, but it seems like they have enough regular posts that they don't need to be stickied.

Yes, as it's to minimize posting in the 2023 threads and let them drop off the front page. They'll get unstickied in February.

Although, an archive subforum for the previous year meme threads might be a good idea. I'll mull that over a terracotta mug of chai.

Why not just close those, with a link to the new threads? Otherwise I might find myself accidentally posting in the old threads.

It's the default font size. Not even sure how to change it. Might be something to do with the theme I'm using.

Ok I figured out how to reduce the font size in my browser and that is helping a little. More than half the screen is still taken over by the stickied threads.

You should see this site when I read it on UNIVAC. Really makes these stickied threads stand out. I go through seventeen vacuum tubes getting through a @Tererune post.

Nah, the text when I open a thread has always been a normal size, my screen can usually fit a few paragraphs (otherwise I would have put Tererun on ignore for the sake of my swiping thumb). The font size of thread names on the thread list has been a different size for several months now.
