Again, it's about moderation. Processed sugars are okay in moderation. The problem with the American diet is summed up by one word: excess. Fad diets all have one thing in common: calorie reduction. Most of them also have a reasonable sounding theory to back them, but usually the theory isn't backed by science. I can create a no-alcohol diet and say that it works because cavemen did not ingest alcohol. But the truth is, it works because we are dropping the calories. As for cavemen and alcohol, that's true but irrelevant. Alcohol is a toxin, and our body is designed to process and remove toxins.
