Bassists aren't always the tools who play one note in a band. And who plays solo bass with only one note? Also, singing by itself has been ignored. Oh, and the thing about harmonica pauses in songs is SO TRUE!
To those who say that bass player is the lamest position in a band, i give you: And yeah, if you're only playing one note bass lines, you're probably playing country.
There's also legitimate turning someone on with an instrument. You have "chakra's" all over your body, and when hearing the correct frequencies, it makes you bob your head, move about, and occassionally--you can turn someone on. I learn some weird ass stuff in my audio engineering classes. XD

Hey! The flute is NOT lame.....well if someone is trying to play it in a rock band, that person is lame. I love playing the flute. And yeah there are some guitar solos as well as some classical pieces, paino or orchestra that can turn me on.
Other thing about bass players is that they usually wind up withthe ugly chick... A bass player is a wingman in the background everywhere, not just on stage. Singing by itself should be ignored in the rock milieu.
Anyone who has watched Huckabee play the guitar on his show should understand that he is the exception which proves the rule. Not even a guitar can make that geeky fucker look cool.
