Poblano pepper. My mom was here and I hadn't cooked those for her before so I made up the rolls and grilled them.
A bit of indoor grilling today, as it's pouring. Fresh ground beef from a neighborhood butcher, and the final product. Somebody who can die in a charcoal fire is apparently of the opinion that you don't put ketchup on burgers. He is wrong and now dead to me.
Ketchup on burgers is not my preference, but to each his own. I liked it when I was a kid, but I find it covers up the flavor of the ingredients for me too much now. Ketchup on a hotdog, though, is an abomination before Crom. I hear they sell hotdogs with ketchup on them in the feminine products aisle.
Cream cheese? There are two ways to have a hot dog: Spicy brown mustard and saurkraut Diced tomatoes, diced onions, diced pickles, and diced hot peppers Cream cheese goes on a bagel or in cheese cake.
Here's how I love a hot dog... you might think blegh. Yellow mustard, saurkraut, mayo, hot sauce, relish, sliced pickle, and jalapeno.
I like a good Chicago dog, but I keep it simple at home. Beef or Polish sausage. Brown mustard. Banana pepper rings. There's a hotdog place here that sells a "BLTD" which is a bacon, lettuce, and tomato dog with peppers. I like it so much that it's the only hot dog I've ever eaten at that place.
