I assume the subpoenas are coming after the dems get all the refusals from trump and the rest of the dumpster fire. I know it is slow, but let them all push more independents away by refusing the polite requests before the subpoenas come and then we have political proof of who is on trump's side, and legal reason to toss them in jail for obstruction.
I love how Republicans are saying that there should be a vote for impeachment, they're not following procedure.. IT'S A FUCkING INQUIRY, THE VOTE COMES LATER, IDIOTS!!!!!!, THIS IS THE PROCEDURE!!!!
^no, they're talking about a House vote for the Inquiry, like we had the last two times with Nixon and Clinton. You just heard it wrong, or it was garbled by the news source you got it from, or the persons you "love" didn't know what they were talking about. Or something else I didn't think of.
Agreed. But Congress is a process-heavy institution to begin with, and these are lawyers. GOP will claim that ideally both sides (D and R) would have subpoena power along with other due process requirements (courtesy of our adversary legal system) to avoid one-sided narrative, and politically the GOP will insist the Dems vote yes/no re the "Impeachment Inquiry" to establish a record.
Right now I’m in, “let’s see what happens” mode. They can’t go forward with impeachment without a full house vote, so I’m not going to get worked up just yet. Both sides are clearly trying to run out the clock until next year.
So @Tuttle , @Zombie , and any of the other of the trump ass suckers. Can you address this quote from congress regarding why the white house has to comply with oversight of congress? It seems pretty straight forward and I would like to see why you feel trump should be allowed to decide for us if impeachment is correct rather than to provide for their requests so that they can properly oversee the executive which is one of their elected duties. It does not say anything about a vote of congress to begin impeachment at all. You are saying trump gets to decide when impeachment happens and what it is over congress and you are backing him doing that. Please do explain why this quote is wrong.
or as he’s being doing for weeks sticking his tongue up the asses of the boards leftists to curry favor with them by suddenly being anti-Trump. Go on FF...... get your tongue up Diacanu’s ass. It’s his turn.
The Constitution doesn't say squat about Due Process requirements in an impeachment investigation. Due process comes into play when someone runs the risk of losing life, liberty, or property. The only thing Trump runs the risk of losing is his job.
There isn't a fucking thing in the Constitution that tells Congress how to do anything. The Constitution says the House can impeach and the Senate can remove but it doesn't say a fucking thing about the nuts and bolts of that process. I saw a Republican enabler today on TV accusing the Democrats of "making it up as they go along." That's exactly what Congress has always done when it comes to rules and procedures. Those rules and procedures are made up by Congress. They were not handed down in the Constitution.
SCOTUS has said otherwise. Due Process also applies to POTUS during impeachment processes. Read the letter. It’s on page three and it’s footnoted.
Suddenly anti-Trump? It's as if I've told you all for years that I'm libertarian and you didn't believe it. I agree with you a lot about a lot of things, but I won't stand with you on Trump.
Did you read the cases? Watkins v. United States was a criminal trial regarding Contempt of Court where Watkins faced fines and jail time. That would be liberty and property. An impeachment doesn't lead to loss of either of those. I'm not sure where they're coming from with Guinn V. United States (The dumb fucks couldn't even get the case right...at least it wasn't in Comic Sans)*. It's dealing with a constitution...not a hearing. In conclusion, no...SCOTUS has not said otherwise. Try again. *unless they're talking about this case. If so, then what the actual fuck?
In case anyone is wondering, here is the clause in the Constitution that enumerates all of the limitations and burdens placed upon the House when it comes to impeachment. "The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment."
I have "some type of professional relationship" with a whole shitload of people. Including a bunch of people who I don't even like all that much.
if Trump is so bad he should be removed from office, it's a moot point - he will be removed in a little over a year anyway, right? The impeachment just might explode in the impeachers' faces once all the cards are on the table - wouldn't that be a kick in the pants?
He’s being impeached for asking a foreign power to meddle in our elections. Saying to just wait for the election seems to be really missing the point.
That's the real kicker. Two years of the Mueller investigation where Trump said, "No Collusion!" eight thousand seven hundred and eleventy times, and the conclusion is no collusion, and then feeling vindicated, trump immediately turns around, colludes with a foreign government to influence the next election, and then brags about it.
Yeah, let's ignore the the guy compromising our national security because he only has 18 months to screw us over some more. Certainly isn't looking that way. It's still early, and the polls in favor of impeachment are already above where they were with Nixon when his process was started.
