Would you rather let someone in and keep them on a tighter leash, or let them in and keep them restricted to the loosest area of the board? I can see both sided, but my idea means they can still interact, just not flame and troll out.

Castle has proven that he's more than ready to troll outside of the Red Room. You only need to look in the Blue Room to know that.

Can't remember. Didn't you provoke it?

At any rate in my opinion things that you and Gul do are just as bad.

Are they as bad as someone who deliberately trolls and goads people into breaking rules about flaming or tries to trick people into posting info to get them banned. Then bitches and moans when called on it, especially after admitting that was their intention?

Nah. Jabba was evil and did real harm. Castle's more like a gonk droid.

Really, so you're making the case they whoever wrote to your Principal was well within their right to do so?

Hey, yeah, that drives me nuts, what function did the Gonk droid serve??

He's got no arms, his vocabulary is "gonk!", so he's not personable like C3PO...
He's basically a box with buttons and plugs.
Is he a walking talking WIFI hub?

Seriously. And if you read up on the supposed purpose, they still make absolutely no sense. They are a mobile power source for places that don't have power sources? Whatever generating capacity exists in that box can't be much compared to what even the most primitive/inexpensive permanent installation would provide.

Not sure what you're saying. Are you saying that John Castle did that or that you and gul did that?

I did not do that, nor do I believe either of the other two did that. He is saying that Castle did something similar, but to somebody else.

I did not know that. That is a really bad thing.

Didn't we have someone that posted here who worked at NASA IIRC and someone sent their boss some kind of message? I can't remember if it was here or at the TrekBBS?

Seems that trying to bring "real life" into play against people here is more common than I thought.

Was it El Chup who deliberately started a thread here with my full name and town where I worked so it would show up on any google search?

The thread title only said from Arkansas, but at that point a search of your name would already show where you lived.

TBBS, but it got discussed over here and, because the person (I forget who it was) was apparently also a member here, a bunch of warnings were handed out. I got my first WF warning not because I wrote something about it myself, but because I quoted someone who had.

Which was what El Chup fully intended. His ass (and the rest of him) should've been banned for a stunt like that. He openly admitted his intent IIRC.

By then you had already posted enough personal info that anyone could find out where you lived, your address, your place of employment, and pretty much anything else they'd want to know. It didn't take a thread with your name and home state in it to find any and all info on you, that's all on you. Like the time you asked for a post for the student manual to your school, which all it took to find was your name with the words teacher and where you were living at the time attached to it. That thread was started after you asked for a link to where you worked at the time. So you provided the means, and the information over the years that already led to the same information the thread did. Even now, Google automatically suggests "dayton kitchens teacher" when you type "dayton" into Google. Want to know why? Because the info you've placed online yourself provides that prompting.

As I recall, that thread was a proof of concept, one that demonstrated the extent to which Dayton had revealed himself. At any rate, it was also under Lanzman's watch, so I doubt I put much thought in to whether it was ban worthy.

^and that justifies El Chup doing what he did? Would it justify future actions on your part?

I issued several of the things basically as challenges because I didn't think anyone would actually bother looking up anything about me.

Why would you? El Chup and you IIRC frequently proclaim in the Red Room (while offering false support in the Blue) about how I will never achieve anything or be anything.

Not sure what you're on about, Dayton. I'm not the guy who did it, and I wasn't running things at the time. Take it up with Chup and Lanzman, preferably not in the helpdesk, as a personal squabble between members isn't really the focus of this room.

Dayton, you can piss and whine about this all you want, but the fact is that Wordforge already showed up when searching for "Dayton Kitchens Arkansas" so you can't really bellyache about that. What I did changed absolutely nothing because it was you who released the information. What you are comparing it to is entirely different because the targets if this most recent incident had not disclosed the means by which they were attacked.

    Spin and spin.

It killed and will always kill whatever claim you make of honesty and goodwill in the future.

Not to mention maturity on your part.
