In case anyone is looking for remaining races to influence, here is a certain subset of Congressional candidates, last updated 10/17/2010.

I make no statement about whether you should support or not support any of these candidates and I have no comment about the criteria of how this subset of candidates were selected; instead I am simply putting this information out there for anyone who may want to blog regarding these races.

One way to blog effectively is to find the relevant newspapers (both nationally and locally) that discuss these particular races, and make your voice be heard in the discussion. If people want additional resources on races they want to influence, feel free to make such a request and I can provide additional information.

Here's to some political 'trolling'! ;)

Lately I've enjoyed fiction more than politics. It's more interesting and entertaining. I'll tune in a day or two before and a few days after E-day to the tube to keep apprised of the stakes/results.

You ought to take a break too at some point or you could overdose on it. Plus the fact that it's toxic and all. And all the players are basically whores, with only a very small percentage that actually have any principles that one could rely on.

But glad that WF covers the subject so completely, keeping up is almost effortless.

[Not as an insult, but you're about as hardcore a partisan as I've encountered, online or in RL. A real junkie. I'm like that too in a few respects, just not about the pols.]

The hell? Since when is Harmer in CA-11? He ran to fill Tauscher's seat in 10 last year.

    I know, I mean why's he running in 11 rather than 10?

California election law states that the only legal residence requirement for holding a US Congressional seat, is that you must live within the State of California.

He doesn't have to live there to run...but I think he only lives a couple blocks outside of 11 anyway.

I would add AZ district 1 (my district) as a weak GOP gain.

The Democrats are starting to spend some money in this race to try to hold the seat. They put out an ad about how the Republican candidate "doesn't support democracy and people voting" because he favors repeal of the 17th amendment (direct election of US Senators). The chances of that amendment going anywhere are pretty slim. Typical scare tactic type of ad.

The election can't come soon enough for me. We get about 2-3 pieces of mail a day from various sources. Most of them are stating why we shouldn't vote for the opponent. I know negative campaigning works, but it really is tiresome.
