I love it! It was probably easy to figure out. Just follow the sent of piss and find the little bedwetting pussy liberal in the office. I would go one further, if I was a business owner and needed to downsize my force, I would take a stroll through my parking lot and start with everyone who had an Obama sticker on their car.
The good thing about that is that it would be completely legal. Political affiliation is not a protected class.
The better thing is the negative fallout of looking like a whiner will turn this into a self-fulfilling prophecy as people don't seek out his business.
He says the calls he's getting are 20-to-1 positive, so I doubt he's too worried about losing much business.
Ah, so it's not really company policy. He's just whining because business is down. Still, I'm sure this will be great advertising for him. I know misleading advertisements always make me want to use a business. To which policies is he referring? The article didn't seen to mention that.
If you can't make your case with facts, make it with anecdotes. If you can't find an anecdote that says what you want it to say, turn yourself into one.
The even better thing is to watch the butthurt wimpering of limp-wrist lefties when you point out that it is perfectly legal to fire someone for having an Obama bumpersticker.
Awesome!! I love it! So without citing any specific policy or outcome that has harmed his business, this guy outright states that he's throwing a hissy-fit because he doesn't like Obama. The fact is that Obama's policies actually cut taxes for 98% of the country, Dodd-Frank actually make markets less risk adverse and has made it easier for small to mid-size businesses get loans and none of the provisions of health insurance reform has kicked in yet... But nevermind that. We need more like him!
Sorry, Alpha, I don't know whether I personally would copy this guy's approach, but most of what you said there is wrong. Mine in red -
And he didn't invest in GM!! That stupid business owner. Didn't he know a great investment when he saw it?
It's funny; some of the business owners I know are doing significantly better than they were a few years ago. Of course, that's anecdotal evidence as well. But in the absence of a specific explanation of how Obama's policies are supposedly hurting his business -- beyond knee-jerk platitudes -- I have to wonder if this isn't just a case of somebody looking for an external force to blame for his problems.
There's a bit of "It's always the Other Guy's fault," but it's also a grab for his 15 minutes of fame. It got him on the local news, didn't it? And given his customer base, he figures it'll bring him more business, and keep the locals from resenting him for not hiring. It's the Charlie Sheen School of Marketing.
