I assume batshit crazy religious fundies are out there making police reports and trying to do these things. The police sort of have to hear them out to make sure nothing is actually happening. In doing that they might act professionally and not laugh their ass off at the crazy karens so they do not get yelled at later when the karen asks for a supervisor.

They have to be nice to the karens because they are going to complain. I do not want the police to end up getting reprimanded and fired for being disrespectful to the woman. So the end result is important, not that they are doing what we know they are doing. If the police patrted her on the head politely and said sorry they cannot do anything, then that is what they need to do. I want to know if they caved into her and more needs to be done, but there is no follow up by mr. thinks he is a reporter. You need to do the fucking job and tell us what happens, and this 404 guy just drops the fucking ball on that.

Every day in many places some crazy idiot wastes a cops time. We should know this.

Louisiana HB 777 Would Criminalize Librarians and Libraries Who Join the American Library Association

Fascists know there's strength in numbers, which is why they always seek to divide and conquer.
It's as simple as that.

They will do it as long as there is no punishment for attem0pting to do so. What needs to be done is to allow a civil suit within the law for an organization like this to sue representatives and others who purposely create frivelous attempts to maker unconstitutional laws. There needs to be some firepower against the MTGs, Boeberts, and Trumps of the world, or else you are weaponizing the legal system by them.

People like Teachers, librarians, and parents do not have the resources to weather the legal expenses of being attacked by the fascist organizations of religious and family hatred.

What is worse is the courts have denied organizations similar to the ACLU to challenge these laws due to standing. If they cannot challenge the law based on constitutionality until there is a poor or middle class victim, then these laws are allowed to chill actions by other people. If I am a librarian I may not want all my finances and freedom tied up because I wanted a book on trans people, or with a gay person on the shelf.

In these cases fascism works because regular people only have motivation to be complicit or be destroyed for something that does not mean as much to them. The first people the haters attack are the allies because they are the weakest.
