    there have been studies on human sleep cycles that show a lot of people function better on cycles that are not the traditional 24 hours. One of THE WORST things foisted upon modern humans is "shift work." We evolved without electricity so we are not suited for it. No matter how long shift workers have to "get used to it" they never really, really do. Many studies have confirmed this. And when you are constantly switching from days to mids to swings it does take it's toll. Seen that hundreds of times in the military. If you knew how sleep deprived some of the army air-traffic-controllers are on any given day you would pray for the pilots - no bullshit.
