"Progressive" is such a bullshit term anyway. By what fucking arrogance does someone promote their ideals as "progress" ahead of all others? The implication being that everyone who disagrees with them is stuck in the past and/or an obstacle, hindering our march to a "brighter" future.

They began to refer to themselves as "progressive" once it became clear that "liberal" had become a pejorative term to most of America.

I find the term highly illuminating, myself. Most of what "progressives" believe in is actually highly regressive in terms of individual liberty and restraint of government. And, the communists used to call communist insurgencies and suchlike "progressive elements" or "progressive movements" in their propaganda. :chris: Of course, once the commies managed to achieve power in a country, they "progressed" to rounding up all their opposition and shipping them off to be re-educated or exterminated, but there you are.

Progressivism's ideas don't work, therefore it should die.

And I, too, bristle at the co-opting of the term "progress" to mean "expansion of the state, centralization of decision-making, and socialization of industry, health, charity, and retirement."

So "progressive" in this context is the same in which an oncologist would say "progressive"? :soholy:

Some things progressives do is good. Such as equal rights for women and people of different races, religions, etc.

But yeah, person A shouldn't be let off the hook easy if he murdered person B, and person A happened to be a honky while person B was a chink.
