Oh my, he went the true believer route and tried to get them to pray in the face of imminent defeat and all the pretend christians are wondering what the fuck is this shit. This is what they signed up for with the overly religious guy in charge. This is too funny, they turned to the preacher and he gave them hopes and prayers for his master plan, and they blasted him for it.

This is why you cannot elect hopes and prayers to government you fucking morons. It is great for you when they continue to pray and never stop gun violence, but when you need the sheeple to actually do something all they have is prayer, and that is hopeless.

What is even better is it seems this mealy mouthed fuckhead is a peacenick jesus freak too. So he is actually going to fund the government and might let humanitarian aid get passed. They confused a jesus christian for a hateful fasscist overlord, and now they arer praying in the face of defeat because he is a fucking looney.

This fifth dimensional chess game is awesome.

I just want to say that there is a rarely used clause in the board rules that state that if my prediction of 3 speakers in a Congress comes true then the results of the 2022 Election Prediction thread are overturned and I become the winner.

Actuary Tables alone have to give us at least a 2-3% chance of a Speaker Jeffries this Congress right?

It looks like the medians are about the same, though of course the raw number who are past their typical life expectancy is more important than the average, which is easily skewed (since a caucus that's half 40-year-olds and half 80-year-olds will lose more people than a caucus that's all 60-year-olds).

Remember on motion to vacate: MTG has to go to a mic and call up the resolution. Then the leadership can delay the vote for two legislative days. That would put this until after recess, two+ weeks from now.

Just listening to her speak is so frustrating.

    https://x.com/keithboykin/status/1771209056499478591

So she says she has filed the motion to vacate but not called it to the floor yet as she doesn’t want the House shutdown like last time. It sounds like she is saying that she wants the Republican caucus to pick the replacement before the vote, but will anyone go along with that?

Eric Swalwell who is obviously not an unbiased source said something on the Fast Politics podcast that I wish I could look up and confirm.

This House is historic in the ratio of bills that became laws that the majority of votes came from the minority party compared to majority party providing majority of votes.

Again. No way I could look it up but the Republicans complete disfunction where they can’t even get enough votes to pass a House Bill so that they can then go into a reconciliation negotiation with the Senate is simply…. I don’t want to say amazing so I’ll say deserved and so I have no reason NOT to believe it. Especially when the budget** took… what…? SEVEN* CRs majority Dem passed to get to Biden’s pen?

*Johnson after continuing to fail properly pass Regular Order spending bills decided to first pass an Omnibus and then split that into two Minibuses so yes I am counting each one as a bill that became law as they were bills that became law.

**As one of the most fagotty fags on this board (in terms of regularly enjoying penis) I have to say I am 100% A-OKAY with Speaker Johnson trading away the automatic 1% cuts to Pelosi’s budget McCarthy had secured if the budget wasn’t passed via Regular Order (part of the Debt Ceiling deal) in exchange for going back to 2021 when we couldn’t fly Pride Flags at US Embassies. We can fight that battle another day but that 1% across the board cut would have impacts today. I hope MAGA Rs keep using their House majority for ‘wins’ like that.

What did Biden actually do? OK, maybe he let them shoot themselves in the foot, but he just needed to nap a lot to do that. I could give MTG and rapey McForehead more credit since they did remove McCarthy and he was never going to let this get on the floor.

Funny how Kirk assumes if you’re in the minority, no matter how slim, you’re supposed to ‘give up.’ That might be the Republican thought process but not for the Democrats. Better start calling him Majority Leader Jeffries.

Remember that we're not talking about doing things you like, we're talking about things that he wanted to do and got done.

I could have included making MTG look like an idiot, but that would be too easy.
