So sayeth right-wing talking head Anna Perez, formerly of Real America. She's not happy that Princess Peach in the new Mario Bros movie isn't some helpless princess waiting for her bold hero to save her, but actually gets proactive.

Because teaching young girls that women are as tough as men is wrong because they aren't, and they go out into the world with a false sense of strength, and then they get raped and they only have themselves (and Nintendo) to blame.

The Handmaid's Tale ... I believe the episode is in season 2. But, definitely shows the disconnect these women have with the reality for what it is they are asking.

I guess she sees confidence and empowerment as equal to acting overly sexy and giving off vibes that they are some immoral. After decades of training women in martial arts and training alongside women, eventually they get to the point where they give off "don't fuck with me vibes". It's not necessarily anything that comes out overtly. If it's true that predators can smell fear or spot a weakling, it's just an aura that tells the predator that someone else is a better target.

I've never "tried" to look or act tough. I just don't give off a "I'm a fragile female, save me/protect me" vibe. So, yea, I've walked by myself through some pretty rough neighborhoods - and some not so pretty rough neighborhoods. and never had any serious issues.
