CaptainChewbacca sighed as he stared at the gauges on his ship. While other members of the Federation (and his former alliance the Romulans) were content to build their empires, he found himself posessed with the indomitable desire to explore. Already the Shriiwook had visited almost two thirds of the sectors in the galaxy, his reconnaissance files were second to none. Chewie wondered if he was compelled to isolate himself out here out of self-destructive behavior. Whether it was guilt for abandoning the Romulans to a war he had provoked, or shame at being unable to help them WIN that war. A marginal member of the Federation, he had once been expelled due to a clerical error. As he smirked at that memory, all hell broke loose in the cockpit. Alarms were blaring as he entered the newest system "ALERT: FIGHTER DEFENSES DETECTED- CLOAK ENGAGED" As the Shriiwook melted into the blackness of space, he checked his scans, and shook his head in disbelief. He had found the lost home system of the Bertie Bastet, an older race that had long ago passed beyond the rim. "Begin scan of the adjoining worlds". Chewie had no idea how much his orders would change his life. The first world was only slightly unusual. Twenty million fighters, nine billion credits, and a tech level of zero. Out of Shriiwook's gunnery ability. The next planet was a kick to his stomach; Sixty-five million fighters, zero credits. It was one of the most heavily defended worlds he had seen. "Way to defend, Bertie." He shook his head and keyed in the scan of the last world. "ENERGY CREDITS DETECTED AT EXTREME CONCENTRATION" chimed his computer. Chewie nearly choked as he checked the scans. The world, with an ATL of zero, held over thirty-four TRILLION energy credits in a massive vault complex. Even more, these thirty-four trillion credits were defended by fewer than three million fighters. Chewie scanned the planet five times to make sure he wasn't space-happy, then triple-checked Shriiwook's own armaments. He gazed down at the world, the world he had been searching for over two thirds of the galaxy. He smiled, knowing his future was secure. "Sorry, Bertie, but I aim to misbehave."
I dunno, some rather unkind things were said about my character, and now I'm thinking it is that very same character that has worked to make me so valuable. :-P
ah, I was joking about asking for money, and sorry, I haven't watched more than 5 minutes of Firefly, or seen the movie Serenity.
I got some'a that Wookiee love. I suppose I should feel ashamed I admitted that, but upgrading everything except the cloak to Level 25 was worth the hairballs.
