I'm going to start this over.

The first song "Guess Who" had too much echo in the vocal and the song itself was generic - thumbs down. "Wonderful World" is awesome - thumbs up! hard to believe it charted so low.

Where's the list? Is this going to be another one of Cobalt's awesome bracketed contests?

    I'd start with:

(1960) Tchaikovsky: Symphonies 4 and 6 by the Leningrad Philharmonic.
(1961) Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem, from Otto Klemperer.
(1961) Mozart: Don Giovanni with Joan Sutherland and Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.
(1962) Shostakovich: String Quartet #8 by the Borodin String Quartet.
(1963) Rochmaninov: Piano Concertos 2 and 3 by the London Symphony Orchestra.
(1965) Chopin. Martha Agerichs 1965 recording.
(1965) Chopin: Nocturns 1 to 19. Arthur Rubinstein.

"Save The Last Dance For Me" is so good. And of course "Wonderful World".

My main method of populating my Spotify library is to add a song, then add all the others I recognize and like by that artist. Sometimes I'm surprised by how many I know from an artist whose name doesn't ring a bell as someone who made a lot of lasting hits. Sam Cooke's a good example of that, I think I added five or six of his songs at least.

"Lonesome Tonight" is good, but not among my favorite Presley songs.

All great choices. And I agree that Elvis had many songs better than that one.

I don't think they had videos back then. Besides, all orchestras look the same so just pull up any random classical music video and mute the sound.

Wow Motown was on fire back in the day! They had the formula down to a science - the production, the songwriting, the singing talent, etc. Motown had it covered, and many of their songs still stand up to this day!
