There's nothing to tell. A boring family man with no controversial anything, by all accounts. But he doesn't repeat the correct talking points, so some people have to be mad.

His church is homophobic.
They don't preach it out loud, it's behind the scenes Chik Fil A type stuff.
The Guardians cast stood behind him, so everyone calmed down.
Why UA is stirring it up again, I dunno.
Maybe his Youtubers are holding a grudge.

"Get Hard" is a whole movie about fearing anal rape, and came out in 2015.

And no miss literal, I don't mean nobody in the literal sense so that's not what I'm "suggesting." I didn't watch "Get Hard" for that very reason. Those type of movies aren't that funny anymore.

If that's a funny way of saying Chris Pratt isn't Charles Martinet, the guy who's done the voice of Mario that everyone's been familiar with for years and years, then you're correct. That's the biggest gripe I've seen since Pratt was announced.

It's like if the original Michael Bay Transformers movie had recast Optimus Prime with a random celebrity instead of hiring the original voice actor, Peter Cullen. I loathe the Bay movies, but Cullen was excellent in them and his presence earned a lot of goodwill from the fans.

Ok, THAT I will accept.

Critics praise the animation, and Easter eggs, but say the story is paper thin, and may as well be a game playthrough.

I suppose if they had gotten people from Square Enix to collaborate on this (see, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars), a good story could be there.

But hey, Ima go see this Thursday I think and might be pleasantly suprised by what story there is

I am not watching the super mario bros movie for the plot. I am watching it for the easter eggs, jokes, and cool ass moments with peach (or insert your favorite character). It is sort of like porn where if it has too much plot it is going to turn me off. That is if I were a normal dude who watched porn. Personally, I get hard to alien, and that has a plot and little to do with porn.

Anyway, that got weird fast.

I saw the Super Mario Bros. movie yesterday afternoon & here's my 100% SPOILER FREE review of it :

The Super Mario Bros. movie was a rather silly demonstration. I DIDN'T hate it , just felt UNDERWELMED by it. It SHOULD'VE had & been MORE. By all means go see it in the movie theater if you like , otherwise wait until it's available for home viewing. It was VERY COOL to see the Super Mario Bros. game on A BIG SCREEN Well MOVIE , but you know what I mean when I said GAME in the last sentence.

In conclusion I have to say the Super Mario Bros. flick was A VERY CUTE MOVIE.

Go see it if you want to , YMMV!

The movie looks pretty bad, but I'm sure I'll see it in a few years once it's on a streaming service.

Also, I didn't open this thread expecting @Uncle Albert to be going on anti-woke rants and @Bill Carson making antisemitic jokes...but I guess that shouldn't surprise me.
