Because I just realized that the "Taylor Swift can suck it" thread is in Media Central, and because given the elevated levels of mental illness among the MAGA brigades, the insanity will no doubt keep coming in large enough quantities to fill its own thread.

Wonkette has a roundup of the most recent round of meltdowns.

But hilariously, it's gotten to the point where Republican senators have to weigh in and try to stop their base from frothing at the mouth... including Tommy Tuberville, who, while far from the sharpest tool in the shed, I guess does at least know his football ...

Conservative senators tell the right: Drop the Taylor Swift fixation, enjoy the Super Bowl

Right-wing corners of social media currently contain plenty of unfounded conspiracy theories about the Super Bowl, NFL, Taylor Swift psyops and Joe Biden. But some conservative senators aren't having any of it.

"There's no truth whatsoever," said Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), a former college football coach. "Football is football. Hopefully we stay closer to that than we can all this social media."

He added: "I don't think it's gonna make any difference in this election."

It was a sentiment shared by Senate supporters of Swift's boyfriend Travis Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs, who will head to Las Vegas to face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11.

"If they're both in love, good for them, and I have a 13-year-old that's a huge Taylor Swift fan," said Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.), a staunch Chiefs fan. "She's a pop star and she's got a boyfriend who plays for the Chiefs, and I don't probably [need to] overcomplicate things."

That's also the view of Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), who wore a Chiefs tie to Senate votes Wednesday.

"That's all nonsense," he told POLITICO. "Everyone should embrace the Travis and Tay-Tay story. I think it's a great story, an American love story, something that Walt Disney wrote. So we just wish them the best. I think it's great for the NFL."

He added of Swift's past support for Democratic politicians and causes: "I think I'm able to separate politics from football, from entertainment."

Well, that thread was about Republican men having a different kind of bodily emission in their pants.

I just realized what this reminds me of.
    Metalocalypse.
Dethklok gets as rich as many countries, and their fans are a cult willing to walk in to suicidal death, or to kill in their name, so the Illuminati sits around every episode plotting to discredit or assassinate Deathklok.
Naturally, their schemes are always foiled.

The Repugs think they're illuminati, and that Taylor is Dethklok.

Dear Brendon Small, please make do the obvious Swifty-ocalypse reboot.

To oversimplify Eric Hoffer’s “The True Believer,” the fastest way to stop a cult leader is with another cult leader.

I wish I could remember where I read it, but someone pointed out that all the red hats losing their shit and floating their insane Taylor Swift conspiracies is even more bad news for Biff because the more reports that show how unhinged his side (accurately) looks, the worse it is for him. Kind of like how Nikki Haley finally actually going after him for his blatantly obvious cognitive problems is forcing news outlets to look at him with the same scrutiny as they've been doing with Biden.

That's right, folks ... "liberal media," but the subject of Trump's mental abilities can't get any oxygen unless there's a Republican essentially giving permission to cover it.

This is great and all, but does it really matter? Are there trumpanzees who will change their mind if the right person on the right says Trump is cognitively fucked? No, because it is a cult. This form of cultist cannot be convinced their leader is wrong. These people live in a fantasy world, and they want to.

When people think it is just a matter of saying the right thing by the right person and these people will suddenly wake up, they are not realizing these people are delusional and want to be. This is how they want to live. They do not think like others.

There is no fixing this. There is a certain number of republicans who are not full on believers in cult 45, but there is a huge percentage of them that simply are not going to believe anything other than Trump is perfectly fine in the head. He could have half his skull off and his brains leaking out while babbling nonsense and they would still believe he is fine.

Meanwhile... when a man refers to a woman who just turned 34 as "middle-aged," it's a pretty sure bet that you don't want to look at his browser history.

Look, I get that Republican businessmen and politicians are such money-obsessed Scrooges that they almost never pull their head out of their ledgers, and consume popular culture...
I get it up to a point.
They don't have daughters, or friends with daughters, or siblings with daughters, or friends of friends with daughters, or....:chris:
And Republican voters never notice how out of touch these fuckers are, and are bothered by it?
