I didn't like the X-Files the first time around. I don't see much hope that I will care this time around either.
I'm looking forward to it, though I'm worried with only six episodes, it's going to be too rushed and isn't going to get much of an opportunity to explore non-conspiracy plot lines.
I loved that show once. But it lost me way before it ended. What's the recent status quo? Aliens are planning to invade, and Mulder and Scully have a child?
Yeah, same with me. As soon as Duchovny left the show it went right in the toilet. And that first movie was just awful. It was supposed to wrap up all the alien stuff but it was just a mess.
My wife and I used to watch it but mainly because it happened to be on TV during our honeymoon. I loved the monster of the week episodes much, much better than the "aliens arc" episodes which to me made less sense the more they made. Blame Tea Leoni.
After the debacle of the last two seasons and the second movie, I am up for some proper X Files so I am excited. I felt the trailer looked a bit cheap in parts though, not that I can't get past that.
The alien plot lines me wrapped up in that two parter where the syndicate got torched in the Tustin blimp hanger.
Tonight is the night, X-Files returns! Unfortunately, this first episode has gotten some pretty bad reviews, with Variety describing the dialogue as "Phantom Menace" quality. Fortunately, by most accounts it gets better, with the 3rd episode (a comedy story) getting strong reviews and being compared to Clyde Bruckman or Jose Chung. Nobody seems to know at this point what episodes 4, 5 & 6 are, so......yeah, I guess we'll have to wait and see. I hope tonight's episode doesn't kill off interest, it would be nice to revisit these characters and this world every so often. Now if only they would give us a proper conclusion to DS9, before Avery Brooks goes completely batshit insane......
Well, I'm just gonna pretend that episode didn't happen, cause none of it made a lick of sense within the larger context of the show's history. Seriously, what was all that bullshit? I hope tomorrow's episode is better.
Well, I liked the first episode so far. Not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, but it had enough of the X Files classic years to satisfy me as a starting point. I understand that the next two episodes are better.
They blew up the cute chick! And of course, just to help recreate the whole original X-Files experience, Fox scheduled it after a fucking football game and it started late.
Rule 1: when taping episodes during football or baseball or even golf season add at least one hour to the tape time.
Why are the moving The X-Files to a different time slot? It was on Sunday at 10:00 but they've already moved it to Monday at 8:00!
Okay, record. I'm old school. I "tape" programs. On my dvr. Just like I "dial" the phone number on my smart phone. Sheesh.
So I watched it earlier today. I don't get the bitching, I thought it was great. It was a nice reintroduction to the series and it tackled modern issues.
