With recent (the last week or so) events, I believe the OP to be even more relevant than before.

Perhaps President Pence can unite Americans. After all, if they get rid of President Trump (with Republican help) the Democrats pretty much have to "declare victory" and will then be expected to work with his successor.

I don't expect Trump to be forced out or leave on his own.

But then again I didn't expect the Patriots to come back and win the Super Bowl.
