There were a few cool chicks at the Sci Fi Channel boards when I was there 10 years ago, but they don't hold a candle to this bunch of tomatoes!

I was gonna say that, but I was trying to be diplomatic. :ramen:

At any rate, the late, lamented Swing Shift BBS was responsible for a very interesting dating period for me (it was a local Sacramento board)...so all things being equal, that one beat Wordforge if only because the women were far more accessible...and single. :soma:

Plus, Swing Shift had like four MUDs...(Pimp Wars and BBS Wars, along with Trade Wars and Legend of the Red Dragon). Wordforge hath none. :(

Each and every one of them have their own particular qualities, some i've gotten to know and like very much. But at the end of the day a group of women who post on a star trek related internet board would not make any of my lists on greatest groups of women

Thats not meant to be a slight on these ladies, just my opinion. :)

What's "sadder", a geek, knowing who he is, starting a "butt kissing", thread about some ladies in a geek community?
Or someone trying to be the "rakish scoundrel", of that geek community, while somehow acting above that geek community, while being automaticly damned by being part of it?
Or, those who fall for it?

    Ouch.

I'm not falling for anything, I take Stall's cheek and fun poking for what it is - just because he doesn't think the 'Women of Wordforge' are the greatest group of women doesn't mean he doesn't like us or have time for us. If he really thought we were all worthless plebs he wouldn't post here.

If that makes me 'sad' in the eyes of some, so be it  I tend to be ok with whoever's ok with me, makes it easier to remember who you're supposed to have a grudge against ;) :D

I put the "sad", in quotations up front, cuz I don't think any of it is.

I find the down-the-nose-looking in all directions tiresome, satirical or not.

The WF woman "aren't the greatest group of women"?
    Come on, who is?
It's a nitpick distinction that doesn't have to be made except to swipe at Ted.
Shooting at Ted's bullseye is too easy, therefore it ain't "cheek", to me, it's petty.

"Cheek", is when you're trading sword ticks with someone on your same vibe.

    IMHO.

I think that was the point

And I personally read his post as a swipe at the birds here, not at Ted (the 'I think you need to get out more' comment is a typical response when you disagree with someone, and the wink suggested it was in humour).

And that swipe wasn't meant with malice, so it wasn't offending in the least to me (the cheek bit there)

I'm a bit surprised you'd think I fall for alpha posturing, but you think what you think and that's your prerogative.

I may well be mistaken.

    Perhaps.
He'll say that's what it is now regardless, so...

    Nope, not that.
Just saying, if I'm right, and it's sandox behavior toward Ted, then naturally you're mistaken about it being "teasing".

I should've like to have seen what this thread would've looked like in RR.

    *Sigh*

Having never been on the recieving end of the kind side of your pals, I can only see it from my angle.

I could be being stupid and naive, or I might not. It's all down to interpretation, isn't it?

I like Stallion and Hood. I like you. I don't see why it has to be an issue.

And I'm not saying you're stupid or naive.

Hell, I could be the one "falling for", something.

Actually, it is a pretty good group of women here.

I don't usually like women very much and most don't "get" me as I am pretty much a guy with tits and a who-who. The ones here are pretty cool though and pretty open to different sorts of personalities. Best thing, they are mostly good bitches and not the psycho hosebeast variety of fucknut. ;)

You still haven't gotten over those psychological issues from the 'cool' boys beating on you at school have you? :itsokay:

But, since this is the green room I'll not go into it. However you really don't have a clue do you? I have never had a problem with Ted, as far as im aware we get on just fine with each other. He's always reasonably cool with me and as far as im aware im the same with him. It is possible to have a good natured 'dig' at someone.
