Yeah, I was right about the "getting the shit kicked out of me" part. I think most of my few kills were grenade sticks or the Covie carbine. Sorry about the lack of matchmaker, Foil - the Maptacular pack wouldn't DL successfully last night but is OK now. Just gotta update the Killtacular pack and I'll be OK. We'll take the inconvenience as payment for you inflicting Led Zeppelin on me over the headsets (not that I've got a problem with Zep, just when it's muffled and someone's humming along to it...).
I'm sorry! I turned it down! I hate it when people do that to me on halo too. All you need is more practice. Just keep going through rumble pit. Also, you need to learn the art of the killsteal. Two people fighting each other, bam, grenade. Double kill. Also, whore out on the power weapons. Play swords games with friends, or rockets just to get the hang of it. Or maybe I just play too much
Nah, I'm just used to crap opponents (I f**k my workmates up at LAN Quake III) but then I play more than they do. I think once I know the maps a bit better I'll be OK - you and Criple (Fifth Grade?!!) beat me to the swords and snipers pretty much every time. I also kept expecting some of the weapons to act like they do in the campaign (charged plasma pistol shots don't f**king home in multi!!) and I'd swear the arc of the plasma grenade is different... But it's mainly that I need practice, yeah. And the reflexes of an 18-year old would probably help. Dunno if I'll get on again today, gotta get stuff sorted for work tomorrow and then try and have some quiet time with a cheeky little Merlot...
1) The Plasma Pistols DO home. 2) I never beat campaign the full way through on any difficulty so I wouldn't know. I get bored by campaign modes. 3) It's easy to take down a sword or sniper if you want. Half the time I was holding the sword so he wouldn't use it, other times I wanted a rampage or something. I love the sniper though. 4) You never really get that good until you play online with random people.
Not as well as in campaign then. Though that might be to do with the aim-assist for the thumbstick controller - I don't know if they'd enable it for multiplay. I like 'em for the storyline. I've beaten both Halo and Halo 2 on Legendary (only once each though, both of 'em it's like pulling teeth and there are a lot of battles you just can't survive if you walk into them with the wrong weapons, which is annoying). My main thought with the sword is to use the shotgun or stick 'em with a grenade, but it didn't go so well for me. The lunge didn't seem to work the one time I got the sword too. Sniper you either hit first or get in close, though I got BigBallz (or whatever his name was, quiet guy) with a coupla close-in sniper shots on Ascension. And let me assure you that you're a very random person.
I guess I'm just exceptionally good with the sword shotgun or long range works best. Oh, burst your SMG's at long distances. If you hit the sniper, it'll take him out of scope and he won't be able to snipe. Battle rifles are good for that too I never beat either campaign, 1 or 2, and I won't beat 3 either.
I will by the end of the summer. Don't worry when I'll actually be making some money. Right now I work 9 hours a week 7.50 an hour. Not too much time. Over the summer, 25 hours. Oh, and I met cripple in double team last night. Fun times.
Got Matchmaker working - I had to download the Bonus map pack as well, which I didn't do previously because it isn't free. OK, it was only £2, but I'm a little f**ked off that Bungee are making it mandatory to purchase additional content in order to play online.
yeah They did it for the download of everything. They always make it free after the summer or something.
