TIL that the dude from the Highlander movies was in a Tarzan movie and that the trailer used "Mars, God of War" by Holst for the soundtrack.
It came and went in theaters, but HBO played the everliving shit out of it, and then TBS got is as a hand-me-down when HBO was done with it. How you missed it baffles me.
Oh, I knew about the movie, I just didn’t know who played Tarzan in it as I never paid attention to it.
I know cannon can be important to a fantasy series, but considering those who love the Torah, Bible, and Koran is it really that important to get it right? I( don't think people really care as long as they can wear a loin cloth, hang out with a monkey that identifies as a cheetah, and drag womens around by the hair and rape them into loving them in the trees. At this point we have had the Tarzan rip off George of the Jungle make it's own movie, could we get the Kong rip off Mighty Joe young get a modern CGI movie?
The "unga bunga" Tarzan is a creation of the old black & white movies, and the cartoons that parodied it. In the book, and the Christopher Lambert movie, he's raised by apes, and is totally mentally an ape. Then they bring him back to civilization, and teach him to act like a man, and try to make him a proper British gentleman, but he decides civilization sucks, and goes back to the jungle. The Christopher Lambert movie gets the origin right, and the 80's Filmation cartoon get the post-England Tarzan right. No "unga bunga" he can talk normally.
I made no assault on george of the jungle as I love me some Brendan frasur. I did like monkeybone better.
