If you're going to be gone next week let's wait til after next week to do it. That way if there's any unforeseen issues both of us will be around to work on it.

We've got 5 days to fix anything before I'll be pretty much out of contact - Wednesday through Sunday. Should be plenty of time.

Hey, we did a much bigger software upgrade (3.5.3 to 3.6.4) and got the board usable within a day (excluding testing time on a beta site ). We changed servers in about 4 hours, and were live within another 2. I think we can handle a dot release.

Just don't invite Murphy onto the board, is what I'm sayin'. Ya know what I'm sayin'?

And we did testing for about a week prior to that.

I think we should wait til you get back, there is no rush to do this.

Nope.

No, but they were about four 9's* short of being our hosting company. The price was right and so was (theoretically) the service.

*for those not familiar with server administration, five 9's is the holy grail of uptime: 99.999%. so four 9's short would be 90-98% uptime. In Dreamhost's case, more like 90. For comparison, we were, on a good day, getting 97% from Hostgator.

Ah, I'm with Dreamhost and quite happy with the service I have got there. It seems really variable depending what server you end up on though and I wouldn't want to risk a board like WF on it.

Upgrading first came up June 5...I understand real life, probably more than most, but here it is September 2 and it still hasn't happened.

There really needs to be more efficiency with this sort of thing please. You guys need to work out something that works and doesn't leave the board hanging for months while whatever it is going on in your lives is going on.

Not to sound like a spoiled brat, but if you dont' like the timeline, find someone else.

I hardly think it is out of line to question what is going on after three months when you yourself initially said "next week" back on post #2.

I think you're getting a little bit uppity at a couple of people who do alot of work for free. I don't know about Order2Chaos, but I have a life outside of this place, and school and work comes first.

But what you're forgetting is, while we were originally planning on updating in June, they changed versions by the time I finished classes at the end of June. Elwood got those new files to us only last week. So really, we've been putting it off for a week.

Right now, I'm working on the test server, but I've had a lot on my plate with one of my computers failing this last weekend, so lay off already, I'm also taking a full credit load at school, and working, so this is on the back-back burner. There's no major problems with the board as it is right now anyways.

Gotta agree with Nick. He and O2C do yeoman work here and it's all gratis. Give 'em room.
