    :hop:

I made a number of dishes out of Joel Robuchon's Simply French book.
    Carrot Salad with Lemon
    Cheese and Bacon Potato Cake,
    Golden Sunburst Apple Tart,
    and Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse.

Other items are baked ham, mashed potatoes and warm apple cider.

Cornish hens split and marinated in a soy/teriyaki/ginger mixture for about 15 hours and barbecued
Green beans and onions sauted in white wine
    Dressing
    Plain mashed potatoes
    Cheesy mashed potatoes
Sweet potatoes baked with marshmallows on top
Mashed sweet potatoes with chipotle peppers and adobo sauce

My wife did all the sides and I cooked the birds, including two whole cornish hens that my daughter is going to make into pot pies tomorrow.

I had two dinners, at my in-laws:

    oven roasted turkey
baked ham (raspberry tea was the liquid, not water - and it was REALLY good. The nephew's recipe)
    dressing/stuffing
    mashed potatoes
baked sweet potatoes with a brown sugar glaze
    green bean casserole
    corn
    rolls
    deviled eggs
cranberry sauce (real cranberries as well as the canned stuff)
fresh veggies (carrots, celery, broccoli, tomatoes, etc)

waaayyyy too much food - but apparently my sweet potatoes were a hit. My mother in law asked if I would leave them. I said yes, in exchange for a ziplock of turkey and ham.

    At my cousin's we had

Rotisseri Turkey cooked on the grill - it caught fire, but apparently, that just makes it better - kinda like toasted marshmallows.
    mashed potatoes
sweet potatoes with a merengue on top (cousin didn't like that and suggested next year we go back to the marshmallows on top) (I didn't make these sweet potatoes, his wife did)
    creamed corn
    dressing
    green bean casserole
    rolls

both places had pie, but I didn't get to eat any at my in-laws :( so I asked them to save me a piece for today (mother-in-law set that aside before I even left)

I'll clean up a little here and do some laundry, then it's back to my in-laws for leftovers for dinner tonight.

this losing weight thing is not going so well ...

Our turkey breast smelled funny, so we made chicken instead. Oh well.
