Would you keep the uniforms that they had, or do something different? If you did something different, what would you do?

    86 the pajamas.

The later uniforms (the black coveralls) were better, but not much.

How would you go between those and the WoK uniforms?

Never liked the post-TWOK uniforms. A little...too frilly. They don't look comfortable at all.

Honestly, I thought this was something ENT had right: the crew should be dressed in jumpsuits to make moving around in close quarters more comfortable.

Abandoning the TOS miniskirts was an unforgiveable mistake.

Agreed UA, however abandoning the mani-skirt of Season 1 was the best thing they ever did.

I dunno. I don't mind ties and such because I know I can unbutton my collar if I need to do so. I guess it's a psychological thing, but I've always hated the semi-mandarin collar on the Season 3+ TNG uniforms and the turtle necks on the DS9/TNG Movie/Voyager uniforms.

But, with that said, and against all convention, the Monster Maroons are still my favorites.

The initial spandex uniforms were terrible. Teh Season 3+ wool uniforms were quite nice. And much better than the faggy DS9/VOY uniforms.

I liked the DS9/TNG movie uniform a lot better than the spandex pajamas or the TNG + season 3 uniforms. Heck I liked Picard's jacket combo too (what the hell ever happend to that). But Roddenberry was just as stupid about pockets as Steve Jobs is about buttons on the iPhones. In other words I think the Enterprise uniforms were actually the most practical for field / duty use. For dress use I did like the DS9 / TNG movie dress uniforms for the very reason that they stood out from their duty uniforms. Hell they could have even made TWOK uniforms the dress uniforms. I Hated the TNG dress uniforms.

Here are some TOS concept uniforms I came up with quite a while back- not the actual uniforms, which were someone else's work, but the sleeve striping for officers and enlisted. The officer striping mimics TOS, while the enlisted striping is my own design.

All things being equal, I thought the one thing they did a decent job with in nuTREK were the uniforms. At least the shipboard versions, anyway. I wish they would have kept more to the original sleeve piping.

I did think the Enterprise uni's were the most practical and useful by far.

TOS female yeomen were the best.

The worst by far were the dresses the guys wore in the 1st TNG season for dress uni's. :vomit:

The sleeve piping was very similar to The Cage, so not too inaccurate considering the time frame.

Marso, would you mind if I used your enlisted rank stripe system for my TOS reboot?

Well, I'm a fan of the military, and having said that, the uniforms used in Star Trek II-VI and the beginning of Generations were by far my favorites. They certainly had that "we're military and so help us we'll fuck you up if you get in our way" look to them.

TNG uniforms... I always wondered, how in the world did the crew go to the bathroom? A one piece jumpsuit? Really? C'mon. They were as impractical as the UN.

The perfect humans of the 24th century had no need to go to the bathroom.

Except for those who were slightly less than perfect- they had manskirts for those.

The only problem I have with them is that it's apparent they never learned from the British and an away team in this uniform is very obvious. This begs the question -- who're the designated Red Shirts (aside from the ones that die) if they're all red?

    One thing I always wondered....

If they had transporters, why not just step into the transporter and tell Scotty to beam your shit and piss directly into the matter reclamation unit? You would eliminate the need for toilet paper, and your asshole would never need wiping because no shit would come out of it, ever!

And that way, Sulu could use his asshole solely for what he enjoyed most in the universe......buggery!

Just hope Scotty hadn't slammed back a few too many glasses of whisky, lest your urethra and a chunk of colon wind up dematerialised in the replicator.
