Unless they create a story with Alien! Space! Nazis! that are single handedly defeated by a heroic, tight-lipped American hero in 1940.

Well, cruise is licking his wounds of late from bad press and poor returns from his movies... He might take on a serious role...

And from that wiki page, he definatly looks the part.

Well, "Tom Cruise is Hitler" draws more attention than "Tom Cruise is Claus Graf von Sneezeguard".

    Shame, innit?

I mean, everyone knows who Lee Harvey Oswald is, and he killed a GOOD guy.

Nobody remembers who tried to off the bad guys. :(

Ever heard of Emancipation Proclamation or the Thirteenth Amendment?
Well that is definitely your opinion, but you haven't demonstrated to me why you think he's a very bad guy.

Yes I have... the former did nothing to slavery in the USA... the latter was passed after his death...

Pissing on the constitution and the understanding or the rights of the states sense day one of the union... Distruction of the republic and creation of the federal empire we have now...

The Emancipation Proclamation only ended slavery in the CSA, but when the CSA was reintegrated into the USA, the proclamation still applied. Delaware and Kentucky were technically the only states affected by the 13th Amendment, an amendment that Lincoln supported and helped make possible.

He's a bad guy for trying to take away the right of states to violate human rights?

Seven of the states seceded before Lincoln ever took office.

The CSA were the ones to attack first, by the way.

    Hmm . . .

Short, but shot from funny camera angles to make him look taller? Check.
    Completely wacked religious beliefs? Check.
Lives his life in the closet? Check.
Extremely skeptical of psychology to the point of being loopy on the matter? Check.
    Out of control ego? Check.
Spends his life trying to bring about the downfall of western civilization? Check.

There may be something to this Tom Cruise is Hitler idea . . .

Yes, it freed slaves south of the Mason-Dixon line. While there weren't many north of it, there were some, and their owners weren't obligated to free them. Or so the radio claims. Research, anyone?

    Did I say otherwise?

Technically, I think it applied to states not yet reclaimed by the Union.

Tom Cruise could actually play Hitler himself really well. I wouldn't mind seeing that.

But a laudatory Hitler biopic could be the ultimate career-killer.

^ Nah, Mel Gibson as hitler, Tom as Goebbels. The ultimate, double-whammy career killer

Btw, the best hitler is Bruno Ganz who played him in DOWNFALL. Incredible performance. Here's be videos. Never mind the intro and titles, obviously some stupid kids made them.

I concur. "Downfall" was brilliantly done. And Ganz's take on Hitler was awesome.

Ganz is the film version of Hitler. His portrayal in Downfall seems spot-on in every respect.

Anthony Hopkins was pretty good as Der Fuehrer in The Bunker, too.

I liked Robert Carlyle's take in Hitler: The Rise of Evil. He played the role with a certain...self-awareness.

Noah Taylor did (IMHO) an outstanding job playing a young Hitler that might-have-been in Max.

And, of course, Alec Guinness did a fine job as well.

But the best movie Hitler, far and away, would have to be...

More likely, knowing Hollywood these days, he'll star as Captain Georg von Trapp in the remake of The Sound of Music.
