When games get delayed, it's hard to get upset because it mean the developer is taking the time and effort to release the best game possible, however, when Tomb Raider was delayed, I was very dissappointed. This fall is going to suck compared to 2011. I hope this trailer illustrates just why. This game looks fantastic! Very cinematic and life-like. Might be GOtY material!

It's actually weird that there hasn't been a Tomb Raider/Splinter Cell crossover yet.

A 5 minute demo was shown during the Microsoft Press Breifing at E3 yesterday. What follows is mind blowing. Prepare yourself!!

The gameplay elements and graphics are great, but the DLC coming to Xbox first is a turn off. I play on all 3 platforms, but I prefer my PS3. I wonder if there will be any multiplayer for Tomb Raider?

There is a pseudo-controversy brewing over the attempt rape of Lara Croft depicted in one of the trailers to promote the game.

    http://m.kotaku.com/5918193/tomb-ra...tempted-rape-scene-as-an-attempted-rape-scene

First of all, the words "attempted rape" go too far to describe the way the antagonist grabs Lara by her hip and draws her closer. Attempted sexual assault? OK, maybe. But why is it not OK to depict that in a game that is more or less a murder simulator? Disregard the fact that she knees him in the balls and undoubtedly blows his brains out immediately after, there is no place for attempted sexual assault in a video game that is basically a murder simulator.

It's amazing how heinous acts in movies can be depicted with little regard but the moment when these things are explored in an interactive media as the medium grows, the nervous nannies pour out of the wood-work.

If they are up in arms about that they ought to check out the entire Max Payne franchise!

I spent a few hours with the new Tomb Raider last night and I just wanted to give a few initial impressions. This game is gorgeous and the controls are smooth. I can't describe the rush you get when you make a kill with your bow and arrow. It's pretty amazing. I have to admit that this depiction of Lara Croft is very pleasing to look at. I mean if I'm going to be looking over someone's shoulder in a third person action game, it might as well be her.

Hopefully I can get back to it this weekend and see just how open the open world elements are. So far, this seems like it might be the best game I've played in a long time!!

Eh. I'm with you in principle. But somehow to me, Tomb Raider is something from the late 1990s. Even though computer graphics and game play have come a long way, it still doesn't compare for me in excitement to about the Dagger of Xian era.

If you're at all in to cinematic experiences, I'd reccommend it. It plays more like a movie than a game, but it's not like you're sitting there with a controller in your hands watching a long cutscene. It's very immersive. I missed the 90's era Tomb Raider totally, but I think this depiction will be around for a long, long time.

I'm definitely picking this game up at some point.

In the original Tomb Raider games they mentioned Lara's origin (rich heiress living a life of luxury gets put in an extreme survival situation and walks out of it born-again hard), but didn't elaborate on it. Glad they finally did something with it, I always thought there was a kick-ass game in it just waiting to be made.

Though I gotta say, from all the footage I've seen so far, there's been a noticeable lack of "tombs" in Tomb Raider. :bailey:

Any real gamers (i.e., PC) know where to get a cheap Steam code? Apparently Tomb Raider is not being released on DVD-ROM for the PC and is only available as a download. I have a real problem paying $49.99 for a digital download. Call me old school.

I never buy games on Steam at full price. Wait til they have one of their sales and you can save a few dollars. I don't know of any coupon code at this time.

So, even though I'm pissed that Tomb Raider wasn't released on physical media for the PC, EA's Origin platform had a sale a few weeks ago so I caved and bought Tomb Raider.

    What a great fucking game!

Between Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite and Starcraft, this has been an exceptional few months for gamers.

Just bought bioshock infinite at target. Find it funny that there are games with 30 gig installs.

I borrowed Tomb Raider from Redbox this week just to test it out. The first hour or so that I played was pretty intense. Seems well worth the hype.
