I hope it's announced on all NY/NJ media ahead of time or there will be hysteria. Even so, a helluva lot of people will be having flashbacks.
Oh!! Oh!! And it should shoot fireworks at the freedom tower! And sprinkle grey ash confetti and rock candy glass splinters on the people below! The kids'll love it!
Some of the "girls" from my high school class are passing around a suggestion that we all stay off FB from the time the first plane hit until the second tower went down in a "show of silence out of respect." I'll be silent by default. It's three hours earlier where I am. I'll be asleep. Considering his great compassion and honesty on 9/12/2001, I wonder how #mashedpotatohead will commemorate the day?

My new condo building had the best 9/11 celebration. At 8 in the morning on the second floor walkway they started up 3 jackhammers and ripped up the surface of the upstairs walk and started throwing debris down to the ground. So at 8 it sounded like some huge thing was ripping through the ceiling and when I looked out the window there was dust and debris coming down and all sorts of people wandering around looking up. Best 9/11 recreation ever. There was even lots of shouting in multiple languages, and confused people saying omg and wtf. I went to bed wondering if something was going to happen. I am not complaining because they are getting the project done in one day, and it just sort of fit today. My neighbors and grandfather did not find it as amusing as I did.
