To make them even cooler than they already were? No, I think it's so that they can move undetected amongst the lowly hoo-mons.
This is why I felt as if I outgrew the Transformers in the middle of my childhood. I stopped watching the cartoon as a kid and went into comics. With that said, I was not too eager about seeing this movie.... but I did and I have to say that I was blown away. The reason why they transform into forms of transportation is handled quite well in the movie. I'll probably see it again this weekend.
In the comics, they had the ability to transform anyway. When they revived on Earth, the Ark's computer mistook cars/trucks/planes/etcetera for the dominant lifeform and reconfigured the TFs so they could blend in.
Amidst all the ramblings that came out of Bumblebee when he was trying to talk (including two "hailing frequencies open captain") I was hoping to hear Bill Clintons voice "I did not have sex with that woman".
Okay, saw it. Three questions: 1. Does Jennifer Conelly have a daughter? 2. Who was the aussie chick? 3. Is that Camaro actually going to be a production car?
I believe that is going to be a production Cmaero, yes...GM's reply to the recent muscle car reviavial (i.e. Chrger etc)
Saw it last night - very awesome! A first day Blu-Ray purchase for me for sure. Actually, it's kind of a mess of a film, but the action, the FX, and Shia Labeouf's performance elevate it. And of course, Megan Fox is the hottest thing on two legs. You know, the screenwriters are the guys who are doing the Star Trek script. I can only hope that they turn in a tighter, more coherent script than Transformers. Transformers works despite the script, because of the strength of all the other elements of the film. Star Trek won't have the advantage of throwing up giant warring spacefaring robots to distract from the wafer-thin plot, the 1-dimensional characters and the gaps in logic.
All products of the source matierial, which had the same issues, imo. Remember, the source material, in it's original form, is pretty much just a comercial with an llusion of plot.
Yeah, but the Charger's had a number of different incarnations already. Just look at the naff 80's L-body incarnation. I'm looking forward to the new Challenger.
Woo Hoo!!! Just saw it tonight w/ the boys. Excellent!! I agree with all the good stuff everyone's been saying about it. And I disagree with all the fanboi nitpicks! I think this is one of the best-balanced flicks I've seen in ages.
I only saw a shitty Hajj copy but DAMN. Fucking awesome movie. I can't wait till it comes out on DVD and I can watch it on my big screen back at Lewis (unfortunantly I will miss it in theaters ). They really did a good job with modernizing it yet keeping the same 'feel' as the original IMO. And Bumblebee kicks ass as a Camero, although nearly everyone agrees he looked alot better as the old one. New Camero is too boxy and tall.
/\ Huh? He was comparing the second-gen Camaro to the fifth-gen. Personally, I think the only Camaros worth owning are the first and second gens.
God where to begin. I guess I walked into the movie expecting a giant commercial with robots killing each other, so with the lowest common denominator in mind, it was impossible to be let down. And yes, it was a giant commercial, for the Army, GMC, and Hasbro. BUT IT WAS THE COOLEST FUCKING COMMERCIAL EVAR!!! I really enjoyed myself at this flick.
The way I read it, he's saying that the new Camaros are too boxy and to tall, but it's made to look like and have the stance of the First Generation Camaros. So, he's saying that the First Generation Camaros are too boxy and to tall.
Fucking loved this film. Loved it. Although the designers on Megatron had clearly taken a little too much Doomsday straight to the brain.
I have now seen the movie three times. The night it opened with friends, with my soon to be step-son as a "guys day out" kind of thing, and this past weekend, with my girlfriend. I have come to one conclusion. If Chevrolet will make that Camaro a production car, I will do whatever it takes to own one provided they offer the red car with black stripe option. God, that movie made me miss my Camaro.
