I was following ESPN.com's punch by punch analysis of the fight and one of the analysts types "Mayweather is like the Borg. You can get him once and then he adapts completely". I wonder if it would ruin a boxers reputation to be called Floyd "The Borg" Mayweather. I would dig it.
I saw the weirdest Trek reference on Fox News the other day. I had just turned on the TV and it was on Glenn Beck's show. He was closing out the show and said "Just remember this episode - at Tanagra, when the walls fell. From New York, good night." It was so strange and out of place that it took me a minute to realize he had just quoted (misquoted) Darmok. I thought maybe he could have been referring to something else that TNG writers had stolen from but upon googling I've found nothing at all other than Darmok that contains that line. I wish I had turned the TV on a few minutes earlier so I could understand what he was talking about or why he would drop a pretty obscure Trek line in the middle of a mid day news program. There is no way very many people would have got that unless for some reason Fox News randomly played an episode of TNG last week... edit: upon googling some more I see other people caught it too. http://www6.lexisnexis.com/publishe...picId=100007214&docId=l:1175905958&isRss=true Last line on there. http://nuadha-prime.livejournal.com/291556.html Some other board's discussion of it. In fact I'm still quite confused as to why he said it.
Mayweather's nothing like the Borg. The Borg didn't drop a deuce in their shorts over the thought of a fight with Manny Pacquiao.
Manny can fight Mayweather any time he wants. All he has to do is take an Olympic standard drug test before the fight. He refuses. Is Mayweather playing head games by demanding such a test? Of course. But if you want a shot at the champ, it's a small price to pay. Manny is a little bitch and Pretty Boy Floyd would beat him anyway.
