They're all cowards. Al Green did the very thing I hoped the Democrats as a whole would do. Clearly, he's a principled man who cares about what's right and wrong, and I think most of us are just asking that be the motivation with the Democrats, but of course they run scared. If I were Al Green, I'd take that censure as a badge of honor.

    Meh.

Not a huge MGP fan but WA-3 is a R+5 district so I’m fine with her tacking on to a motion that was gonna pass anyway.

In that kinda district you gotta take some purely symbolic bad votes so you can take meaningful good votes.

Of course. They, like all abusers, have the right to hurt you in every way they can. If you fight back in even the smallest way, it enrages and offends them.
Like the state they control, you can be harmed, even killed, and they cannot be blamed, but if you defend yourself, then you have sought violence, you "made them" teach you a lesson.

Senator Al Green is a brave man, and the Democrats who sat meekly as he was carried out of the chamber should be ashamed of themselves. The ten Democrats who voted in agreement with his censure should be ran out of their town halls on a rail.

While I don't like it, I understand why the democratic leadership isn't doing much. Actually, no, that was phrased poorly. I understand why it would be plausible and understandable for them to not be doing much or appear to not be doing much about the situation we're in. However, I do not trust them enough to assume they have good reasons for doing things the way they're doing them, and would like some assurances, because like many, I'm desperate for some hope that everything will be okay eventually.

The way I see the current situation: Nobody knows what to do about Trump beyond "resist" and "fight like hell." That's good for us, not so much for Democratic leaders. If they do what we're screaming at them to do, and it fails, they're responsible, and we will blame them. It's not that we want them to fight, we want them to fight and win. If they fight and lose, they fucked up, not us. They need a plan, several plans, and unfortunately, that's going to take time. What I expect to see is as much obstruction as possible while they work out a plan. It would also be nice if there was some indication that plans are in the works.

    While I don't have a plan, I have concepts of a plan:

No one knows what to do, but we need to figure that out, before large numbers of people start dying.

While Trump says the democrats are a huge threat, as near as I can tell, he actually sees the left as a minor threat at this point. That's a good place to be. The way he is, the bigger of a threat we appear to be, the more he'll lash out. Keep the threat level minor, he'll keep the lashing out minor. He's firm, but lazy. He doesn't want to lash out, but will when necessary. It's best to make him think it's mostly not necessary.

Time to be sneaky. Come up with a plan, quietly get everything into place, and then strike, quickly and decisively.

Until everything is in place, keep overt resistance at a level that's just enough to keep the resistance going, and to keep things from looking suspicious. If Al Green is willing, get himself kicked out any time cameras are on him, and two to four others to join him, no more, no less. One person isn't enough, more than a handful increases our threat level. On the other hand, I want a similar number of representatives to "see the error of their ways" and start cozying up to MAGA, get them on the inside. Everyone else, varying levels of token resistance, complacency, and coming around to the MAGA point of view. Make him think he's winning more and more but that he has to work for it.

Then, BAM! Tulsi Gabbard from behind with a steel chair. She was with us the whole time!

I doubt that's what they're doing, because I don't trust the democratic leadership. That's how we got into this mess to begin with: MAGAts trust Dear Leader, non-MAGAts don't trust democratic leaders. At least, they did. Trust in Trump is diminishing as the leopards eat faces. Anything we can do to speed up the growing distrust will help. Cutting the head off the hydra might actually work this time, because any more heads that grow in its place are sure to be severely deformed. If that doesn't work, well... how to phrase this... when the pipes of democracy are clogged, it might be a good idea to call a plumber. Clogs aren't too difficult for plumbers, so it's okay if the plumber is green; an inexperienced tradesman is fine.

It is the USA. No leader ever has 100% support, but there's no problem with describing the actions as being of the country for most of them. Germany invaded Poland, Japan attacked Pearl Harbour, and the United States of America is an unreliable partner that blackmails it's supposed allies.

If we ever get a chance to have another Constitutional convention that isn't controlled by MAGA or other authoritarian assholes, I would suggest not having an Executive branch (or at least neutering it severely). This is ridiculous.

Trump is going to destroy this country to tremendous applause. I just don't get how people can want this.
