If he understood evolutionary theory well enough to identify and point out a legitimate flaw in evolution, and could express that flaw in proper evolutionary terms? Not at all. If the science is flawed, it's flawed, regardless of who makes the discovery, or what their motivation is. That's kind of what science is all about.
