The GOP can't claim that "the Democrats did it" when they control both the house and the Senate.

Who am I kidding? Of course they can...and Republicans would eat it up.

The GOP wouldn't claim the Democrats did it. The GOP isn't as stupid as you think it is. The GOP would be out there explaining why they voted the way they did.

And Republicans would eat it up? I don't think you understand the contempt regular Republicans have for those in Washington DC. It's regular Republicans after all who put Trump in office.

This is why you, absent a real clear cut case of law breaking by Trump, will not see Republicans vote to impeach Trump from office. You may get a couple in the House to vote with Democrats but not enough to send it to the Senate. The Senate will never vote on the issue because it will never get to them.

Another idiot who thinks all non-leftists are stupid.

Yeah, thanks for insulting millions of people, but we know the GOP is in charge of the House and Senate. We know that impeachment in the House and than conviction and removal in the Senate in a GOP controlled House and Senate would require the GOP to be in on the process. We know that there are not enough Democrats to do it.

    Fucking asshole.

And yes the GOP could kiss it's ass goodbye the moment it impeaches Trump. Especially if the impeachment is not for a real crime but some political bullshit.

I don't remember him being overjoyed as much as being stunned that Hilary actually lost.

For the most part, true supporters are bigots or the same type of Obama supporters who think he'll single handedly overturn the system. Either way, such people should consider sterilization and nuking from North Korea orbit to be sure. :bergman:

I hear you - Joe might be guilty of legitimate crimes, but this tent city was no concentration camp by a long shot. Come on now folks. :jayzus:

For the same reason Democrats keep electing their idiots.

"Everyone sucks but my guy" is a very strong mentality that politicians in both parties play.

But slowly things are changing. The Republicans said they needed the House. The got the House. The then said they needed the Senate. They got the Senate. Sixty-seven times they voted to repeal Obamacare. They said they need POTUS. They got it. Oh they may not like that Trump is not their guy but the reality is Trump would sign anything to get a "victory" and instead the Republicans aren't doing shit to take advantage of the situation.

People are now looking at the Republicans in Congress as the obstacle now. Let them impeach Trump and see how fast they get the boot.

What was the suicide rate and the unexplained mortality like there? Are you aware that both skyrocketed in Joe's concentration camp?

Why is the sheriff responsible for inmate suicides if reasonable care has been taken to prevent them (belt and shoelaces kind of thing).

I've never been a Joe Arpaio fan. I liked his "tough on crime" mentality; I hated his actual methodology. He was also a shady, conniving, cheating, scuzzbag politician.

His pardon saddens me, but what saddens me more is that he had never been prosecuted for even worse things.

@Dayton3: Arpaio literally admitted to operating a concentration camp. He proudly used those actual words.

Even if it might not check every single box for your definition of a concentration camp, isn't it just the least concerning that he referred to it as a concentration camp? And that the President of the United States pardoned a man who is on camera unequivocally stating that he was running a concentration camp?

    So and no.

I think to truly be a concentration camp it requires being somewhere that the people in it are actually killed deliberately or mistreated so badly that they die in substantial numbers.

Just like Quantomino Bay prison facility is not a concentration camp either.

The American Heritage Dictionary defines the term concentration camp as: "A camp where persons are confined, usually without hearings and typically under harsh conditions, often as a result of their membership in a group the government has identified as suspect."

Why does a tent city in the desert qualify as "harsh?

You are thinking of extermination camps. The Nazis had concentration camps in 1933, mainly to imprison political enemies and various demonized groups. The Holocaust did not begin (in terms of mass killings) until roughly 1941.

    Whatever.

At any rate you can't seriously claim what Sheriff Arpaio ran was a "concentration camp" regardless of the term he used.

Still overjoyed about election night (again, for Hillary losing more so than Trump winning). I'm a little disheartened at Trump's inability to get it together, but I still think Trump is a far, far cry from what his fiercest critics say about him. He's done some things I've liked, he's done some things I don't, and he's made a number of incredibly stupid blunders. He's what we've got for the time being, so I'll take it one day at a time. I'm in the gray area between "He's a racist, homophobic fascist" and "he's making America great again."

It doesn't appear that "reasonable care" was taken.
TLDR version: Suicide rates in jails across the country range from 6 to 14%. In Arpaio's jail, it was 24%.

People who say, "He's a racist, homophobic fascist" are fucking idiots. He's none of those things. One only has to look at his history to see that. He only became those things when he dared run as a Republican. Had he run as a Democrat the Democrats would have never called him those things.

    On the other hand.......

People who say, "he's making America great again" are also fucking idiots. He's not. His White House is too chaotic, he's too chaotic, and to make America great again would require those fucking retarded GOP shitheads in the House and the Senate to actually do things and put that stuff on his desk to sign.

Look at Obamacare. Trump said it should be repealed during the campaign but once in office he was willing to compromise. Obamacare would be repealed and replaced with GOPcare. A thoroughly stupid idea and Trump would have been breaking a promise he made during the campaign BUT Trump was still willing to sign a bill, any bill, the GOP put on his desk. The retards in Congress still couldn't get it done.

The GOP is going to now fuck up taxes like the retarded morons they are and it looks like there may actually be a fight between Trump and the GOP on the wall that would shut down the government.

What history would that be? The fact that he's refused to admit that the "Central Park Five" were innocent after DNA evidence cleared them? That he got busted for refusing to rent to African-Americans? That his administration is arguing gays have no civil rights protections?
