another ill-formed, delusional opinion which I tolerate in the essence of fairness. When you are as secure in your awesomeness as I am you learn to take with a grain of salt the ramblings of the less awesome.

I'm no history guru, but I saw a documentary yesterday about Stalin - and I think getting on a "purge list" is something you can take a hard pass on.

Trump has at times made me think of both the Mule (from Foundation trilogy) as well as Gollum (leaving aside the murder).

A character written to be despised and almost never portrayed in a complimentary light but also essential to the ultimate success of the enterprise and who ultimately served a greater purpose not readily apparent. Gollum saved middle earth, but I'll be satisfied if Trump simply continues the reverse of the last guy's counterproductive policies.

Pelosi should've heeded the words of Gandalf: "Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement.”

Frodo saved Middle Earth, using the power of the ring one last time to control Gollum’s mind to send him into the fires. Gollum is, at best, a useful idiot. And last I checked, Pelosi prays for Trump. Hardly the same thing as wondering if she should kill him.

I absolutely agree. She shouldn't have killed him. :(

Oh, wait. She didn't. So what are you on about? Are you equating pointing out blatant offenses with killing someone? If so, a huge number of judges who have sent people to jail were wrong in doing so.

And to think it used to be the left that was accused of being soft on crime...

^ Saw that. He wants to have the Supreme Court in his pocket just as much as the Senate.

He really, really, really doesn't believe in the separation of powers.

Sorry if that was too obscure.

Impeachment was presented as a political 'kill shot' (much like the failed soft coup attempts). Frodo, similarly, had voiced to Gandalf the possibility of killing Gollum.

This would make sense if killing Gollum would have accomplished fuck all beyond making Frodo feel better.

Impeachment would have removed a dangerously narcissistic or at best delusional idiot from the reins of a sycophantic government majority and perhaps let them realize the carriage was about to shuck a wheel.

yes I heard on the news this morning that it was a challenge getting Trump to eat at the formal dinner with the Indian head honchos because he hates vegetables. Sorry but if I'm in another country where the native food is prepared by experts in an authentic manner, you bet your ass I'm going to try a variety of offerings.

The power of the ginger couldn't be undone? Oldfella cosplays as Galaderiel or Arwen too. Have you ever had curry chicken spicier then Mongolian.

Yeah, I'm not an adventurous eater (and am physically limited by surgery) but there are obligations that go with high office. Just figure out how to eat just enough not to offend your hosts. It ain't that hard. OT, my brother took a tour to our old posting in Japan (late 50's) a few years back. He and his group happened to be there on a weekend celebrating good relations between the Japanese and Americans. One of his real disappointments was how little of the beautifully prepared foods the Japanese had worked so hard to prepare the Americans were willing to even sample. End result was a lot of left over food. It just didn't seem right to him.

As much as I want to laugh at this shit, I am really not a fan of doing stuff like this with people's food.

I know people with legit allergies and gluten intolerance and people pull this type of this assuming they're some picky vegan snowflake. In this instance, no harm was done (unfortunately), but I wish society in general would stop being so damn judgy on what people eat or don't eat.
