Yep. I like Stewart, but his attacks on Dems was always far more gentle by comparison. Don't get me wrong, the GOP does some heinous shit, but when the Dems do it, they need just as much scrutiny.

I might be a little shaky on the Bush years. I forget when I started really watching the Daily show. I will say that I was not a john stewart fan when he took over the daily show. I liked the guy before him and Stewart's stand up routine did not excite me. So I do not know exactly when I started watching it all the time and loving it.

During the Obama years Stewart went after him pretty hard. There just was not as much to go after him on because he wasn't a fucking moron like little Bush. There was a good deal of government corruption with PACs and both sides were horribly corrupt with the dark money and deregulation. He ripped that whole system apart with Colbert and John Oliver. I am sure a lot of the fuck them all people remember the fact that the dem party is horribly corrupt. That, I think, drives some nihilistic support for orange dumbass. It is just that Obama was so much more capable than Trump and Bush.

I think we took things differently when Stewart would refer to Obama as the bomber in chief and told us how record numbers of deaths came from him because the left is also very kill all the muslims until you get to the progressives. He does the same cutesy references to Trump's killings, but Trump is so much worse that the comedy does not diffuse the genocide as much. Trump has four more years to catch up to Obama, but Obama the Islamic murderer record breaker, and Stewart pointed that out a lot. One of the reasons I dismiss a lot of the newer palestinian protesting is because all those people looked away when Obama was going apeshit and allowing Isreal to use chemical weapons on the west bank and Gaza. Where the fuck were all these people back when he was president?
