Baby steps. Some people seem to prefer that Wordforge be part of the Deep Web. Until we get them to see the world as round, sending ships over the horizon is a no go.
Is there one that can go on the sidebar, underneath the personal stuff and board stats? I'm for it, but we need to take the time to get it right. And give people time to get used to it.
@Tex @evenflow, is this something you'd like to consider putting in in the near future? If yes I say keep it in here, if no we can always start a new thread later.
I go to sites, say ESPN, and there's a Twitter feed in the corner, is that what we're talking about? Or are we talking about sharing stuff to Twitter?
If we're talking an actual Twitter widget, then yes. A Twitter Widget would show recent tweets from Wordforge's Twitter feed. It's good for server updates, downtime notices, general announcements, etc.
A Twitter widget is useful for converting your site's regular visitors into Twitter folowers, generally with the goal of making them MORE regular. (I've also used them in a news context for making fast updates on election night visible to site visitors when the CMS was too slow and cumbersome to be up to the task.) It might not be hugely valuable here, but also couldn't hurt.
Does it in any way give twitter access to people's info? Do you have verifiable proof of this you can present when the starts? If it means we can finally unpin the damn Twitter thread from the Red Room I'm for it.
No way whatsoever that I can think of -- it's not a share button, just a box that displays our most recent posts.
Unless you can find an article from Fox News or The Blaze saying it can't done, be prepared for the .
Yeah, I'm with tafkats. I've never seen a Twitter widget give out user information of any kind. It's a completely passive widget for the end users.
Now that I understand what it is, I think we should do it. If people complain, we just say it provides no info about posters, and remind them that it's the same info that is already broadcast on twitter, nothing more.
If you want it done, I'll need to know Wordforge's Twitter account, unless you're having someone else do it, which is fine.
You'll have to talk to @evenflow or @tafkats, I'm not allowed on the WF twitter anymore... One little Weiner Incident.....
