[FONT=Verdana, Arial]It would have to do with the amazing the lengths the UN will go to pander to the muslim fundamentalists or general islamic sensabilities.

I find it comical the number of Hollywood fools who openly praise Islam and cry genocide whenever the topic of Iraq comes up, while at the same time protesting about how the US needs to do something about Darfur.

The question that comes to my mind is, when are these sheeple going to wake up and learn that the problem in Darfur is that Radical Islamic armies from the north of Sudan are openly killing their countrymen in the south. Why? Because they're Christian. So basically, Muslim militants are killing men, women and children because they're infidels. But, as the UN says, it has nothing to do with radical Islam's global war on everyone, it's all about global warming. Imagine!

Pinheads every one of them IMHO.

It makes sense in a "big picture" way, but it's still a sad attempt to shift blame from the people doing the actual murdering and raping, and pin it on Whitey.

Sorry, did you expect something else from the UN?

What does blame have to do with anything? Everybody's always looking for who gets blamed. :jayzus:

Don't you think a prolonged drought is very likely to lead to violent conflict? Especially in regions with political or ethnic/religious tensions?

Sure, a scarcity of resources is going to lead to conflict. I don't disagree on that point. But droughts don't always lead to massacres, and a shortage of food doesn't always end with ethnic cleansing.

This is another variation of the "poverty causes crime/terrorism" argument, which I don't buy. There are several reasons things got out of hand in Darfur, but the UN is choosing to focus on an indirect cause because it best fits their agenda.

Exactly. Even if they all had ample resources we'd still see the killings because it is about religion and race.

Ancient tribal enmities. Add colonialism and Western religions. Then add famine, caused by over-farming AND climate change.

Funny all Voodoo cares about is climate change.

Um, no. In fact, most of the victims are Muslims themselves.
