Nothing really exciting this week, but I would, however, like to check out Grim Grimoire for the PS2, as it is getting some incredible reviews. It might feel a little too "anime" for my liking though.

Transformers will also probably interest some of you, but I'm not going to watch it or play it's video game incarnations unless it gets awesome reviews.

Honestly, no one is interested in a game about a demonically posessed mafia hitman or something? It looks like lots of fun to me.

Have you ever read the comic?

Dull. Just more of the same, in regards to the Image / Top Cow style of grimness, grittiness, and sex.

I kind of like my heroes to be, well, heroes for the most part.

Interesting point- personally I've never liked the idealic hero, the great proud warrior who does everything right. I like my heroes to flawed, greatly, just like everyone. I want mistakes, fuck-ups, a bit of rage, anger, blood and guts. I don't want a child's game, if I wanted to play Mario I would, but I want a smokin', drinkin', cursin', bad assed, sonnuva bitch to make a few mistakes and crack a few skulls along his journey. Which is typically why I enjoy most RPGs, but always mock the storyline- the heroes are too goody goody.

    I don't mean goody-goody, necessarily.

    Cap isn't goody-goody. Nor is Spider-Man.

    Both have their own flaws.

I just dislike heroes who're nearly indistinguishable from the villains.

With the exception of Punisher, heh.

Cap as in? Parker is still too much of a pansy to be really bad though.

I felt that way about the Punisher, he was too bad to be a hero. It was funny though, the movie actually redeemed that. It made him seem more human, more calculating, just more complete as a character. When it comes to comic books, the only two I ever collected (for hero comics anyway) were Spawn and Ghost Rider. Apart from those I collected and intend to collect all of the Evil Dead comic arcs as well as the crossover books with the Marvel Zombies arc.

How did we get on comic books again? :mystery:

    Cause comics are awesome ;)

And I collect GHost Rider as well, but he's never, in his whole history, had a really great author on him to give him even one classic stories.

All of the elements are there, they just can't quite put them all together.

The Darkness is an awesome 360 game, even if the comic isn't that great. Those powers are fun as hell and all but one work REALLY well.

Overlord is also a great game, though the control scheme takes a bit to get use to. It's like an evil version of Pikman.
