The new gallery program has been installed and will be ready by the end of the day. It is functional already, however I want to go through and edit the language on it because it has the grammar of a 7 year old. I should note that the new gallery is for image hosting only, no mp3's, pdf's, doc's, etc. It isn't because I'm trying to be a jerk or anything, but simply because the software does not allow it, and I have yet to find an acceptable workaround. In the meantime I will be increasing the size allowed for attachments to 25MB.
Re: Gallery Update I think I will add this. Rather than shutting down the board today to install things (its my day off so I'm getting lots of work done on Wordforge), I'll just be doing things while the site runs, so don't be surprised if you get a couple timeouts or things move around a little bit.
Re: Gallery Update Everyone give Nick some rep - I was on IM with him while he did the install and it went off without a hitch. I'm not going to steal any of his thunder talking about how the Gallery is going to be implemented (and I think that is still being discussed by TPTB) but it looks good and slicker than the clunky beast we had before. So rep your tech admin, he's been busy working to make this place better today!
Looks good. Much less complicated than the last one. And there's probably a hack out there that lets you upload all file types.
So here is what is new today. New usergroups: Regular User A regular user is anyone who has over 250 posts, they get a private message inbox of 150 messages, attachment size of up to 10MB, and up to 50 images in the gallery. Ultra User An ultra user is anyone who has more than 1000 posts, they get a private message inbox of 600 messages, attachment size of up to 25MB, and up to 150 images in the gallery. Also new is the creation of the official FAQ (goodbye useless "The Rules" forum), as well as the Gallery, divisions for smiley categories, and an upgrade to the Arcade which will allow us to add more games.
Ooh I found out by clicking on where I usually do for "New Posts" and found the Gallery link was placed there instead. Will take some getting used to. Well done anyway.
