User Advertising

Just noticed John Castle was pimping his Paypal account in his vape reviews thread. There was a graphic that served as a button and a plea for donations at the end of the last three reviews. I have edited out the link, and told him in the thread to knock it off.

To be clear: we do not have advertising on Wordforge. If somebody wants to make money off the content they post here, they need to do it by linking to a blog or other site first. Ownership doesn't pay for the server so that users can place ads in a visible location, especially ads that do not support Wordforge itself.

If anybody sees that sort of thing, please edit it out, and give the offender a friendly warning. Also, I will amend the FAQ rules to reflect that this is not okay.

Castle should really be ashamed of his shameless begging for money, especially in view of how he already gets his monthly income. He does it on his blog as well, but for the life of me, having read it, I am not sure why people would donate and for what purpose the money would supposedly be used. I was almost minded to make a donation just so he could go out and by an inflatable friend.

Donation support on blogs is actually not an uncommon practice.
