I would have to say this is it. He was pretty popular among the incel crowd to begin with, and his routine was always fairly politically incorrect. He is going to try and make money, and they don't care so just go further down the road since he blew his Netflix contract anyway.

First off, every entertainer plays to their audience. He has always been about offensive humor and these sorts of cracks. Him doing the same routine and not caving to the censors and people at Netflix despite losing money and contracts is actually the opposite of selling out. Selling out would be for him to tone his shit down, entirely change his routines to remove the sexual humor and satisfy the bland, and stopping hios old style in hopes for making a comeback. You can call him a raunchy son of a bitch who offends you and never listen to him, but this is who he is and he is not doing a Cosby and playing a moral and non offensive family comic while raping bitches.

His audience may have gotten smaller, but they are the same people they always were. LCK has never been the guy catering to the big venues to make a buck.

IMHO, he's always been an unfunny douche. Take his routine about why we shouldn't complain about smartphones because when he was a kid we didn't have smartphones and they're a "miracle." What this overlooks is that if it hadn't been for people bitching about having to use a phone mounted the wall, we'd never have smartphones. Contrast this with Lewis Black's routine about his phone where he bitches about how it always seems to drop a call and he knows that they can make a better phone because when he was a kid, they could make a phone you could kill a puma with.

In what might be a record-breaking consensus in the WF Red Room, I will also jump on the "Louis CK is a fuckin' D-bag" train. There are some folks in Hollywood that just don't have any redeeming qualities, in my opinion. This guy is one; Bill Maher and Sarah Silverman are others, but that's not an invitation to an argument- maybe just fodder for a future thread.

Silverman seems like a genuinely sweet person who initially made it big playing an awful version of herself. CK is turning out to be an awful person who made it big pretending to be "woke" and self-aware.

That was what we thought was his act. It turns out that is what he was. Some comedians lie about fucked up situations and ideas, and some of them don't. There is comedy in the wisecracking loser routine, but when you turn out to be the same character in your act it is probably less funny overall.

This. I thought the whole douchey "I'm just sayin'" stuff was an act, like it was meant to provoke for fun. George Carlin did it all of the time. He'd say shit just to piss people off, knowing that it would rile everyone up and make people think about what they truly believed.

Why does Silverman get a pass? She was far worse than Kevin Hart ever was. He made a statement about how he felt about his kid, and I am pretty sure it came from his comedy routine. But I don't remember him speaking like a 12 year old gamer using gay as an insult for years like Silverman did. Now all of a sudden she is a hero and playing fag hag?

Dave Chapelle has made some racist, sexist, and gay jokes, and I am not running away from him for observational humor. Lois went further and hurt people instead of just being an act, but plenty of good comedians have offensive jokes.

But guys like Carlin would give you clues as to where they stood and what was their act. One moment Carlin would be saying how easy it is to piss off feminists ("Which one of you cute little cookies wants to come home with me, cook me dinner and give me a blowjob?") and the next he'd drop a line that every feminist would agree with ("Have you ever noticed that women who are against abortion are ones you wouldn't want to fuck anyway?"). Never saw anything like that with Louis.

I remember a routine Richard Pryor did about how he got into an argument with his wife and shot up his car. The routine is funny, and his point of view when he tells the story is not one of being a good person in control. If you look at the incident as he tells it he got into a fight with his wife, was probably on something, grabbed a gun and shot his own car so she could not leave. That is a domestic violence horror. When he is doing the routine he is laughing. He is not a moral pillar of society either. Richard did some wrong things. He makes you laugh at it. He made him burning himself up freebasing Coke and almost dying funny.

I know all of that, but I still love his humor. Sometimes the best humor comes from the fucked up things we have done.

The problem I have with what is going on with CK is some people are going to laugh. I may not be able to ever separate his humor into a character and find it funny again because I know he did some fucked up shit. However, I am not up for removing his access to self promotion where he has no power to harm a person. I just simply do not like the censorship of watching his routines. I could get it on a bigger network, but on something like Netflix which has all sorts of worse things and Weinstein films, I don't see where that censorship is serving the purpose.

Louis played it off that he was a scumbag and self depreciated all the time. He poked fun at himself all the time. The problem was that IRL he was arrogant and the women were not there of their free will. Women had to take it because he held the access that would help them, and it seems he would also work against them if they did not.

Look at the creators of south park. Have you seen how they acted in orgasmo and basketball? One of them is cartman. They write the scenarios cartman does. It all comes from their minds. If they did that shit in real life that would not be funny. It is when the act comes into real life that there is a problem, not the character itself.

As for your personal opinion about things the military people say, I don't have your idiocy. I do not automatically assume someone is right or smart because they served. About the best I will say is if they are speaking of life in the service or their experience I would take their word over someone who has not served. But nothing about being in the military makes you automatically right, or even more likely than someone else to be right. That idea is stupid.
