Did this at school. Basically, you imagine whatever I tell you to imagine, and then describe it in as much detail as you can. Once we've had a few people imagine stuff up, I'll tell you what it all means. ;)

Remember, only click the next spoiler if you've already got an image in your mind. Do not click the spoilers without first forming images, or the exercise will be useless.

    Part 1:

Once you've done that, move on to: Part 2

Once you've done that, move on to: Part 3

Once you've done that, move on to: Part 4

Once you've done that, move on to: Part 5

Once you've done that, move on to the last part:

Once you've done that, type up a post telling me stuff about your desert and what's in it.
I need to know the size of your cube, if it's floating or on the ground, and if it's standing on one corner or flat on the ground.
I need to know where your ladder is, what it's doing, and what it's made of.
I need to know where your horse is, especially in relationship to the cube, what it's doing, and whether it has a saddle or not.
I need to know where your flowers are and if they're on a cactus or not. You can also tell me how many flowers there are.
Then tell me where your storm is, and whether it's a dark and threatening storm, a nice healing rain, or a storm way off leaving the desert, or a storm approaching the desert.

If y'all do this, I'll share my results and tell y'all what all of this means. :D
Shouldn't take ya but 10 or 15 minutes, if that. :TKO:

life sized rubiks (sp) cube - on the ground - flat. ladder propped up against the right side of the cube - metal. horse is tan - climbing the ladder - no saddle. flowers are purple and white - everywhere - thousands of them - no cactus. storm is violent - thunder, lightning, hail. - not really coming or going, just there.

    Okay, let's see -

Desert: Classic Sahara, right out of the movies. We're standing atop a large, gentle dune.

Cube: About a foot square, chrome, obviously rendered in Bryce 3D. Dead center in the picture, on the ground.

Ladder: Old wooden one, about 10 feet long. just lying there on the ground next to the cube because there's nothing to climb!

Horse: Morgan. Brown with a white blaze on his snout. Saddled, but no rider in sight. Standing with his back to us to the right of the cube. The reins droop to the ground under his head. He turns to look at us, a little hopeful, maybe?

Flowers: Suddenly they're everywhere! All colors, covering everything! the desert is in bloom! The horse starts to munch on them.

Storm: The skies turn iron-gray. Lightning flashes in the distance. Huge raindrops spatter the flowers. The horse looks resigned and faces into the wind, waiting for it to blow over.

And it does - it was a short storm. It rained heavily for maybe a minute, then moved on. The sky remains deep, dark gray as the clouds take their time moving on. Raindrops glisten off the flowers. The chrome cube reflects their riot of colors, almost disappearing, its reflectiveness acting like camoflage. The ladder is invisible under the flowers, which have grown many inches from the fresh watering. Just as well, it was useless anyway.

The horse munches away, happy enough.

Plain cube on the ground slightly in front of the ladder that is leaning against the house with flowers springing up over all of the ground and really dark clouds in the far background.

The cube is flat on the ground. (2ft by 2ft by 2 ft) The ladder (probably 10 ft.) was always leaning, but when I added the house it was leaning against the house. And it is slightly behind the cube by about six inches or so and it is only slightly covered by the top left corner of the cube. So it looks like the cube is between the house and the cube.

The house looks like one a little kid might draw but more polished. One door, two windows on either side, hitch roof and chimney.

I didn't see the horse part in the directions. The flowers are not on any cacti, The ladder is made of red wood and the cube is grey in color.

If I was to add a horse it would be saddled and slightly in front of the cube and ladder on the left side of the house.

    :)

Wow i guess I say what I wanted to see. Oh Well the horse would still be in the same place just take the house out.

So the closer object is the horse between it's feet and slightly behind, in the picture, is the cube, and slightly behind with it's feet just to the left of the cube and leaning towards the right is the ladeder. Yes it is leaning against nothing :)

So as you look at them they look to be stacked one on top of the other.

Joshua Tree National Monument in CA (Big red rocks, lots of Joshua Trees)
    Rubics Cube, pattern is scrambled.
Wooden step ladder, open, with paint bucket tray extended.
    Black stallion
White, blue, and yellow wildflowers (dessert I'm thinking of actually does bloom occasionally)
A dry thunderstorm -- wind, dark, large and dramatic bolts of lightning near the rocks.

Cube, flat on the ground. All black. Think "2001". About, say, 8-10 metres in each direction.
The ladder is leaning against the cube. A wooden ladder, to be precise. If you climb it, you can probably reach the top of the cube.
The horse is right next to the cube. There's a wooden - uhm something hammered into the ground that the horse is tied to. The horse is - hm, some kind of brown I guess. No saddle.
There's a bit of green around the cube. There's one flower on that, directly next to the cube. No other flowers.
The sky is black because of all the clouds. It's raining heavily, there's lightening, thunder - the whole deal. The storm is everywhere, as far as the eye can see. Not going anywhere for the moment.

Is this some kind of psychological bullshit? Like colours or something? :garamet:

Desert is a Saudi desert, all sand, and there are a few sand dunes in the background. Nothing but sand and the sand dunes.

The cube is a black cube, nearly in the the middle, and laying in the sand, flat. The ladder, unextended, reaches the top of the cube, so I'd say it's about 10 feet.

The ladder is a typical technician's ladder, made of steel or aluminum, and is laying in the sand beside the black cube. It is of the extending variety. And it's shiny.

The horse is a black horse, completely, with only the hair around his feet white. The horse is struggling to move forward in the sandstorm, so it's half sitting and half trying to move forward. It has no saddle.

The flowers are only a few small shrubs on the ground that have little flowers that are yellow, orange, and pink. They have a hard time growing in the desert. There are only a few of them scattered on the ground, in front of everything else. There are a lot of flowers in each shrub, but they are tiny (like baby's breath).

The storm is a violent sandstorm. It is blowing sand everywhere, and the horse is trying to survive in it. Although the sky is clear and purplish-blue, it is a bad sandstorm on the ground. This whole scene is right in the middle of the sandstorm.

    Far out.

I think it summed me up pretty well.

My cube was like acrylic with energy pulsating in it. Lots of different colors. It made a high pitch sound like those water glass things but higher pitched. Really big, several feet on each side. That fits. And it was also sticking down, almost burried a little, and I know I want more.

The ladder was an old, beat up wooden thing with only a few rungs left hanging on. That's perfect.

And the best part? The horse was fucking DEAD! :horse:

The flowers were chaotic and when I added the storm, it was a Ceti Alpha sandstorm.

    Neat.

    Freaky!

Yes, Mary is very supportive of my hobby, and yes, I have models everywhere.

Not sure if my having her saddled meant a control issue, 'cause I pretty much let her do whatever she wants, and count on her to run the house (finances and stuff). Maybe that's the saddle - I expect her to take care of things, but her reins are untied.

My wooden ladder - yes, I value old friends. But it's interesting that my ladder got covered up by the flowers, since almost all of my old friends have gone their way and left me alone - and now all my free time is spent on projects!!

I came within a hair of having my 12" chrome cube floating in the air. But, although I consider myself an artist, I'm more of a technical illustrator. So the "realistic" side of my brain took over and demanded the cube be on the ground.

Not sure what my storm meant. Maybe I view trouble as fleeting and somehow nourishing?

I gave this test to my 7 year old , here are the results. : )

    The sand was rolling beige.

The cube was large, brown, in the middle of the desert.

The ladder was on the cube , metal, and had ten rungs.

The horse was running in front of the cube and the ladder, not tacked up.

The flowers were in the ground, all around the ladder and the cube.
There was a thunder storm w/ lightning and heavy rain.

    Neeto eh?

not reading the whole thread so as not to spoil whatever the heck you are doing but i got to say all my images were from Looney Tunes.

The Calssic "Road runner" desert, the cube was an acme crate andthe ladder was a generic sort of thing Wily might use in a scheme...the Horse was that gray army horse with the big collar that showed up occasionally and the flowers were non-disctipt Warner Brothers drawing...

I got it my mind that you were doing some gag that played off the Road Runner cartoons and once it was in my head...

alright. I've got the desert, lots of sand, and a cactuse in the middleground on the right, in front of the cube but still not foreground. My cube is right in the middle, just a regular cube, on the ground. My ladder is a regular wooden one leaning on the cube. My horse is right in front of the cactus. This is in the foreground - middleground. It has no saddle. There are 3 flowers, one in the front to the left on the picture right next to the horse, one to the right of the cube, and another in the front left. None of those are cacti, or on any type of cactus. My storm is all encompassing, and I imagined a ddark sky, with clouds. No rain, just a dark sky.

I'm an artist. Sorry, I explain in lots of detail.

Talkahuano agrees: details are great! all the answers are in my second spoilered post that says 'warning'

Thanks! I guess my large cube means I am a leader, and my friends depend on me. I do value old friendships (Try to stay in touch with my one old friend from my old school) My horse is unsaddled because I dont have a significant other or girlfriend or whatever. So, I got a few flowers, random fruity colors. I guess that would be my band, my drumset project, and I don't know what the third would be. Maybe graphics design / my job. The dark storm I don't think is really me. I dont sense a "Dark Cloud" in my life.

Oh, and after reading the thread I realize I actually have less detail than most
