We need to upgrade the software stack

Apache, which I'm already working on, for the stability issues
PHP and MySQL - I really, really don't like upgrading MySQL, but we need to upgrade PHP: the next major version of vB won't support PHP 4 anymore. So we might as well do that too.
vB - we're 2 versions behind on the 3.6 branch, and there's apparently major improvements in 3.7, but we take a performance hit installing them on PHP 4.

Once these are installed, I want to work on the various hacks we've had to disable over the years due to incompatibility - forum icons, rep given, rep meter, etc. No, the arcade will not be coming back for a while - it's not compatible with 3.7 yet.

If anyone else has input, put it here. Kyle, we need to coordinate a time to work on this to minimize downtime.

Well, I'm not sure how much of a help I'll be - I'm kind of all thumbs when it comes to Unix-y stuff, but I'd be happy to help as I can. What time zone are you in?

Kyle, disregard my last PM; I found The Right Way™ to do it. We just need to back up the DB first, and we can do three upgrades at once. Then we'll only have to do vB, which we should coordinate on.
