Some folks seem to have the misconception that when Skin says pot makes people temporarily stupid, Skin's saying that makes pot a Bad Thing(tm). Not true. The sun-baked desert religions make people a lot more stupid, and sadly, those effects are a lot more damaging and a lot less temporary.

But call it like it is -- pot makes people into temporary retards. Period. Don't deny it -- don't defend it -- it can't be denied and it doesn't need defended. Just... tell the goddamn truth about it, for fuck's sake.

Some of y'all just like to get your baba on.

Oh, I don't deny it. and I know I've burned off brain cells, learning new things used to come so much easier for me.

But, if someone is an idiot, they're going to an idiot regardless of whether or not they're high.

Yes, but it does less of a job of it than alcohol does...

    Um, no.

I'm opposed to it because I'm somewhat allergic to it.

In other words, don't do it inside my house or at least give me time to dose with Benadryl so I don't wind up miserable.

Hard to tell, since the temporary retardation of pot also tends to render the temporary retards largely immobile and fixated on fingernails, carpets, the "patterns" formed by their ceilings... the exception being, of course, when the munchies come down on 'em.

It's called getting older. The physical process of brain activity decreases whether you smoke pot, drink, or live a "pure" life.

I saw a documentary one "The Brain - The Universe Within" or something like that. They showed a 50 year old and a younger person's brains as the actual connections were made inside the brain in real time, as they learned new things.

The speed + efficiency were strikingly different. It's the circle of life.
Long ago most humans died at the peak of their game, physically + mentally.
Old people were so rare that they were revered + thought of as having wisdom + knowledge....even more so in societies without a written language, where anyone can easily access information.

Now old (even middle aged) people are at a distinct disadvantage because they cannot learn the new ideas + technologies as fast as the younger people. Even if they learn them, they can't operate + execute as fast as the younger people.

Being old now means you are "in the way" and need to be set adrift on an iceberg with limited firewood to die. :(

That's pretty much the point. On pot, you're far less likely to believe that you're NOT stoned to the gills and capable of driving, having a chance with that hot chick, etc.

What about memory? Cuz all my words are now in the dead zone and it takes me forever to retrieve them. Thank God Microsoft Word has a thesaurus, otherwise I'd either never get anything written, or people would think I've not gotten past a third grade reading level.
